Stop the Random Invites! -It's Insane!

I get about 3 invites a day to factions from people I don't know to factions I've never heard of! - One reason I've been through so many.

I'm picky! I'm not someone who feels they need a faction. I left the last faction because there were too many needy, whiney, pestering, noobs that even whined when I poked fun at them for whining. Another faction (Radiance on Heaven's Tear) appeared to coerce it's members into being lazy worthless whiney TW'ers. It would have helped if I'd known they were promoting laziness to begin with (it's pretty much admitted on their forum). Then there's all the silly rules these factions have about pvp, tt, and such. It'd be ok if they were publicly made suggestions that people could use to agree on before a TT, or FB, but instead they're hard coded silly rules like not pvping any lower levels than yourself unless they attack first. One faction I was getting along great in until all of the sudden they were demanding with threats that I drop a mirage I got through random distribution. I had no idea of TT banking at the time, and nothing was agreed on prior to (but they say it was). I like doing FB's, but another faction I was in was constantly getting tabbers killed or putting them in danger through careless rushing!

What I'd like is a TW faction that owns territory that doesn't expect me to sit around in a squad for an hour before the TW. I used to be against joining a guild like RoC or enrage (heaven's tear) because of their bad rep, but now I see it as a problem of the players / gms and not the factions. If someone is doing something wrong in the game to others: they should be dealt with by the server who can investigate more thoroughly, not the faction leaders. Too many people make up rules and over use terms like KSing. I think the GM's are doing a great job also, and don't expect them to respond to WC pleas, and demands. Support tickets have ALWAYS worked for me.

I'm an 84 veno with Nix, Herc, some pets with rare skills, and am well equipped. I'm not into the fake "helpful" ****. -Not going to fly across the map just to get your lazy butt into a squad that's already there for some culti-boss that I'd get nothing for. I'm not saying I'm not helpful, I just don't want to change diapers. If I'd fit in to your guild, and you can invite me: let me know. I don't want to jump into another guild blind folded. I want all the rules to be publicly available before I fill out any application.

-thnx

I'd have to agree with Balge. The random invites are annoying, but the rest of your post, sounds an awful lot of whining in and of itself. You're putting your expectations so high, and when you think you may have found a faction that meets them, they will change. You just gotta find a good community of people that enjoy helping others in their faction, or in the area they are in, for the fun of it. Or otherwise, they don't help, because they are on a tight-knit schedule, and can't put in an extra 5 or 10 minutes for a boss.
WoW has 11 Million people playing. 11 million people also bought the Sega Dreamcast console. Proof that 11 million people can collectively do something stupid.

Look, there are plenty of people who'd love to have you in their faction and they wouldn't whine or anything. Being lvl 84 though you should be able to get into mostly any faction.

Maybe you should leave your IGN or post with your in-game character.

But yeah, I agree with random invites. Its annoying, however some factions think its an effective way to gain people. Which is probably true.

Is the intentional misspelling of "the" as "teh" supposed to be cute?

Lol, this is my in game name. As for me looking bad, well that's the intention. I don't want to look good to the wrong community. Whining? - How else do I convey what I'm like or what kind of community I'd prefer to fit in? Rather than whine in game, I just leave. I also tend to ignore ambiguous please for help, or suggest better methods of finding help (which often go ignored in the wrong factions). I fit in very well with Triad, but regretfully left over the Mathra leaving event. Yes I'm lv. 84, level very fast, don't short change my equips for level, and thus could get into about any guild -not the main point of the thread. (I'm picky)

Well to be honest, unless it's Enrage, or a wanna-be Enrage guild, you'd have a hell of a time finding a guild that didn't have rules on pvp, FBs and TT. Those rules are there intentionally, they're based on what's known as 'morals', 'courtesy' and 'respect'. Fortunatly for you, these words don't exist in Enrage's vocabulary (and a selected few individuals).

Going around farming low levels in PK, sure it gets you kill counts easy but it also makes you a jerk, not only that but your actions also reflect upon the faction title carried above your head. One could argue that it's optional PvP where participants agree to being jumped by anyone once they've switched, but if they're going to want to vent, it's going to be on your faction's name. It just causes a whole lot of drama your faction just wasn't to deal with- and gives them a bad rep server wide.

Yes, random invites are very annoying. I've been there myself.. you're just minding your own buisness then you're suddenly swamped with invites from guilds you've never even heard of and they actually expect you to join?! They don't even bother try chatting you up first or explaining what/who their guild does/is. Anyone level 60+ who isn't in a guild isn't in one because they don't want to be. Wish people had the capacitiy to learn this, but I guess that's just asking too much.

b:chuckle People are actually complaining on here for spelling mistakes?! OMG get a life! As for the random invites, I get those too. I, on the other hand, don't want to complain about it on the forums and nicely tell them "no thankyou" everytime. Manners ftw b:victory but Good luck to you finding a faction that'll take you in.

    As to the spelling issue:

TEH TEH TEH TEH TEH TEH TEH

Well to be honest, unless it's Enrage, or a wanna-be Enrage guild, you'd have a hell of a time finding a guild that didn't have rules on pvp, FBs and TT.

Careful wording: "silly rules". I did give an example.
Those rules are there intentionally, they're based on what's known as 'morals', 'courtesy' and 'respect'. Fortunatly for you, these words don't exist in Enrage's vocabulary (and a selected few individuals).

Most factions I've been in, the members disregard their own faction's rules. When I left Triad, it was over their apparent failure to enforce their own rules / policy on a crucial event that reflected on the guild and also involved insubordination.
Going around farming low levels in PK, sure it gets you kill counts easy but it also makes you a jerk, not only that but your actions also reflect upon the faction title carried above your head.

From what I can see, PK just plain takes some good coin to do right. People who do it, tend to have high refines and imbues. They also tend to wait until they're fairly high level to start. There's always going to be a one sided advantage whether it's experience, equipment, skills or level. For the same people to nit pick about higher levels killing them, then turn around and brag about pk'ing a higher level is just.. childish. Most of us see it for what it is I think.
One could argue that it's optional PvP where participants agree to being jumped by anyone once they've switched, but if they're going to want to vent, it's going to be on your faction's name.

Have you noticed that people are growing weary of these whiners? The faction has less repercussions than the person complaining. If they want controlled fights, then they can duel.
Yes, random invites are very annoying. I've been there myself.. you're just minding your own buisness then you're suddenly swamped with invites from guilds you've never even heard of and they actually expect you to join?! Wish people had the capacitiy to learn this, but I guess that's just asking too much.

Most of the time I just ignore them. Sometimes I'll ask them about rules and details and they often put me through hoops to get them or say one thing when their site says another. I was just throwing this out there for guild leaders and recruiters to get a clue on.

You seem to imply that I'm of poor morals or bad natured. I don't think you read the post carefully enough. Is leaving a faction because their FB squads were getting tabbers killed something a bad person would do? Would a bad person care if their faction had rules that weren't enforced? Would a bad person inform people of the effectiveness of support tickets?

We can feed a man for a day or teach them to fish. Most people are following the "feed the man for a day" way. My brand of helping may not be as popular, but it sure is better.

You whine , you moan being 8X....dont talk about the lower levels not doing the same thing
    b:angry

At our faction you were not one of my favorites, and would have never been.

You thought everything to do was doing it for some profit or the other,
people like you should not be in any factions.
Plus at your level you probably would'nt need one.
You did your work by yourself and a small part of me respects that.

The thing that i did'nt like was you posting the reason to leave the faction on several forums .

What do you expect out of people who have played the game for 1 month lol?

Anyways Good Luck with the future In game

^ One person that couldn't get it through their head that it's wasteful for someone to travel across the map to help someone fight a culti-boss when in busy hours frequent squads are forming for it. Did I name your guild RD? The problem in your guild stemmed from 2 things: the recruitment of any level player, and the over babying of recruits. It was an issue I couldn't deal with, not something meant as a put down. The Euro hours (I'm USA) were far different from the USA hours for that guild it appeared also.

And here's the first rule of your guild which you failed to enforce:
1.No Scabbing/Mooching/Begging. If someone offers something feel free to accept the offer, But we will no accept begging of any sort.

-That said, I have respect for the leader and core players in it, but the way you ran things during USA hours was bad for your guild.
people like you should not be in any factions.
Plus at your level you probably would'nt need one.

Level 1-20 and even higher shouldn't be in factions. Factions are more beneficial at higher levels. At lower levels they just handicap people.
