Most efficient way to get mat drops

I'm at level 50 and plan to upgrade all 4 crafting skills as I go through the game which means I'll need massive amounts of mid level mats. The thing is I don't need them now (actually I need low mats) but when I do I'll be many levels above the mobs that drop them. Is it more efficient to level normally and farm DQ for the coin to buy them when I need them in ~8 levels, or to farm them now? I'm trying to consider the drop penalty as I level well above the mobs I'm interested in.

I'm not really interested in mined mats, just drops such as leather, compound oil, and compound thread.

If you are within 1-3 lvls or so of the mob that drops the item, go farm. Otherwise save money and either buy the mats you need or buy gold and then buy the mats you need.

This is unless you want to take a chance and spend an endless about of time hoping for the mats to drop.

there are 2 ways to consider

farm the mats as you level . .do the mobs your level.; quest, grind and keep them at the bank.

or buy them later... not necessarily from other players.. check the prices of other players, and what it d cost you to buy gold and buy them at the boutique.

    first option is best
I look at all the trollers, and Pvpers.. and know they wouldnt have lasted 30sec on Camelot.

Rules= Know your enemy (players and NPCs) gives you more chances to survive.

I'm almost too late for that. I can probably find a few mobs that have the mids I want within my level range, but I know I have the quests to level without grinding for a few levels. If they stop dropping at level 49 I'll be too high in the next two weeks to do it without at least some penalty. I did save all I found, but I know It's not nearly enough...

Go farm lvl one herbs and irons... sell them and buy the **** you need. Lvl one crafting items usually sell for as much or more than the mid level stuff. Monster drop items are more expensive but I hear a lvl 60's can grind out 300,000 coin in a night pretty easy, that mean you can buy two gold from the AH which mean you can get lots of the mats you need from the cash shop.

Making MMO coin always comes down to grinding... tho we are very lucky in this game because they have cat shops! I've never played another MMO that was so trade liberal! I love it.
