I use the following Genie Skills.
Holy Path - make you and all nearby squad members go super fast for a few seconds. Use it on a cleric lagging behind and watch them freak! b:chuckle
Tree of Protection - Your classic "omg I'm about to die" panic button self heal.
Relentless Courage - Speeds up your channeling for 8 seconds. Good for the "omg my pet is about to die, must heal faster" times
Extreme Poison - Works like Amp Damage, great for boss fights!
Holy Path reminds me of a funny story in FB59. I was waiting at Ofotis with a cleric for the tabber to catch up and tab the pillar. The cleric with me kept running in clerics around me, and I figured I'd use Holy Path on them and see what happened. Well, the cleric goes shooting off towards the pit and nearly falls in! b:laugh
I'm glad they didn't fall in, I'd be buying my faction mate a new GA.IceJazmin - Heavens Tear - "I am happy to agree to disagree :P"

I think the skill sets on the genies vary a lot depending on what build you chose. As a light armor fox Tree of Protection is a wast of stamina when I can just use Soul Transfusion and Leech to regain HP.
On my genie I've got the following skills:
Extreme Poison (stack it with Amplify Damage to gain 40% added damage taken)
Blinding Sand (stack it with Befudling Mist to gain 100% accuracy reduction)
Hollow Fist (stack it with Ironwood Scarab or Pierce to gain 40% physical defense reduction + Bleed)0 -
Another good skill is Lightning Chaser. It cancels the target's channeling and has a 100% success rate at level 1. Good to help the tank out on magic heavy bosses like Wurlord and extremely useful when you need to catch up on heals for your pet. Essential when fighting Belial when he starts randomly aggroing people. Plus, the spirit investment is minimal since you only need it at level 1.0

yup Vidalaire has right, skills with channeling intrerupted, attack rate decreased and casting speed decreased are best.Tree of protection can be v usefull for archers or clerics.I can recommend these skills :
1. Eruption fist (basic 1st skill for Longevity genie) = has 10% chance to remove auto-buffs(debuff) from mobs and more important from bosses too
2. Searing Heat = Fire damage and Decrease target's attack and chaneling by 10% (lasts 9 secs)
3. Blinding Sand = Decrease accuracy of target and all enemy around 10 meters with ../% (45% for lvl5) and decrease cast speed with 10% (last 8 secs)
Like Vidalaire said its important to reduce the hiting speed/channeling and accuracy of a boss so u may catch your full heal on your pet, and if pet has shriek too u have high chance for success b:victory (I can do solo a fb19 tabed or untabed at 31 lvl with magmite and i use these skills very good when the boss might auto-buff himself/beneficial effect to debuff him, slowing him or intrrerupt some hits).Another good skill is that Thunderblast or Lightning..whatever is called which slowing down too. Good luck b:bye[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] srry about my english, im sure you'll get the point what im trying to say b:chuckleb:bye

oh i forgot something ; be careful if u use Blinding Sand - its a agro skill if u have mobs around, can attract all in a range 10 meters, but its very nice skill when u r just u,pet and the boss b:victory[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] srry about my english, im sure you'll get the point what im trying to say b:chuckleb:bye

I suppose this is as good a place as any. The three increase damage skills are Extreme Poison, Tangling Mire, and Hollow Fist. (I exclude Eruption Fist because 4 seconds of debuff for 100 energy is practically worthless). All stack with each other and with the regular veno Amp/Ironwood. I've tried them all and settled on Extreme Poison. Here's my reasoning.
First, why one? The only time you really need these is when fiighting stuff with a ton of hp like bosses. Regular mobs die fast enough, and their loot typically isn't worth the stamina it costs to use these genie skills. When fighting stuff like a boss, the main constraint on how often you can use these skills is your genie's energy regen rate. So having 2 or 3 of the skills doesn't really do you any good - your genie only regenerates enough energy to keep one skill applied on the boss.
Extreme Poison- Cheap to cast - 55 energy, or 30.5 sec between casts at 40 mag
- 1 sec cooldown, makes the skill spammable
- Lasts 5.5 to 10 sec depending on level, or 33% time coverage at L10, 40 mag.
- +20% damage, +24% at 40 dex
- Single target
- Stamina cost from 150 to 600
- Can be used to pull single mobs from a group
Tangling Mire- Cheap to cast - 35 to 53 energy
- 30 sec cooldown, can't spam this skill
- Lasts 10 sec, 12 sec at 40 dex, or 40% time coverage at 40 mag
- AOE
- 12%-30% movement speed decrease and phys defense debuff
- Only increases physical damage, at L10 works out to about a 18% extra damage against bosses
- Stamina cost from 220-400
Hollow Fist- Expensive to cast - 95 to 122 energy, 53-68 sec between casts at 40 mag
- 20 sec cooldown - recast limited by energy regen in practice
- Lasts 9 sec, 11 sec at 40 dex, or 16%-21% time coverage at 40 mag
- 20% reduction to phys defense, works out to about 12% increase in damage against bosses
- Single target
- 419 -1081 damage, 100 - 1000 bleed
- 390 - 1281 stamina cost
So looking at the overall damage amplification, Hollow Fist is a big loser. Yes you get damage, but the high stamina and energy cost eliminate it as an option IMHO. I'd rather use one of the lower energy skills and save the extra energy for an emergency Tree or Holy Path.
The choice between Tangling Mire and Extreme Poison is not so clear cut. Overall damage amplification is about the same if you're a fox doing physical damage. Caster venos should probably go for Extreme Poison. But if you're AOEing a lot with a herc, Tangling Mire may be better. OTOH the fact that Extreme Poison can be used to pull singles makes it a better multi-function skill.
Of course you can put Tangling Mire and Extreme Poison on different genies, and use whichever one seems most appropriate for the situation.0 -
Impact, the water skill, also has increase damage, in addition to water damage. It works similar to Hollow Fist, it decreases the pdef of the target. And it is singe target.Too often we loose sight of life's simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you, it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, BUT, it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and slap that mother#$@%#^! upside the head.0
