New kid with silly questions~

Hey, so I'm new...I don't know if this'll sound stupid...but I haven't been able to figure it out, and no one has replied to my questions in-game...
1.) I have a pet now, (I'm a Venomancer) so I was excited, but then my genie disappeared? I've seen people running around with theirs-->how do I get mine to show when the pet is there? The stat stuff is right next to my pets....
Genie IS equipped, but not showing up to me
2.) How do I fight AND use magic all at once? I know it's possible (again, seen it happening.) Am I just too low lvl? (7, if you were wondering...)
3.) I can't figure out skills here!!! help? How do I use them/start them up? I understand skills and all- I've played MMORPG's before, but this system is CONFUSINGGG ;---;
4.) since I AM a Veno, can I do the whole solo thing? or is it recommended that I join squads and such? I haven't exactly found many friendly folks...
SO.
Hope I put this in an okay place?

1. I believe its either a) your genie avatar is covered by that of your pets or b) you've used all of the genies stamina.
2. Your method of attacking is really more dictated by your build. For an arcane veno using magic is their attack and a very good one at that while their physical attack and def are low. I personally use melee attack as a fox form veno which while using mana and/or chi to use the skills deal physical damage rather than metal or wood like the magic skills do. Likely you have seen a hybrid build which often switch between styles of play dependant on the type of mob.
3. The easiest way to use your skills is to put them into the hot key bar marked f1 - f9. You can do that by pressing "R" to access all of your available skills and simply dragging the ones you have or want to use regularly down to the hot key bar slots. Simply targeting the mob and pressing the right key will activate that skill as long as you have the required mana and/or chi necessary for it work.
4. Venos are the easiest to solo. I do so often for regular quests easily enough if its just kill some x mobs and no time limit. However, as which a lot of games there are times where you can't go at it alone nearly as easily or fast. For example there are some bosses that are just a pain in the butt to go at solo so having a squad helps greatly in FBs and some of the cultivation quest bosses. As for finding friendly people I can't help to much with that in-game being on a different server. What I do know is Heaven's Tear has a lot of great people I have come to enjoy playing with.0 -
thank's FlappingPix!
1- I dunno what happened, but it's showing up now~
2- but that's the thing- Do I have to do a quest or talk to a npc about deciding which I am, or do I just build myself? I'm at lvl8 steadily creeping towards 9, so hopefully I'll be able to figure out all of that soonish?
3-Okay, I get the viewing active skills...but how do I get NEW active skills? The only other thing I see that has icons that move to the skills window is when I hit New- then each thing just says 'macro' when I hover over it, so I don't know what it is, or how it works...nothing matches the skills tree.....?
4-^_^ Thanks for the help~0 -
Your build is somewhat dependent on how you choose to play your character. The great thing about Veno is we have a lot of options to choose from. I would suggest taking a little time and reading through this nice guide by Senovit. I think that will help clear up how the builds work in PW I know it helped me figure out where to put my points just starting out. If you don't find what you want there check out the other stickied guides.
Getting new skills is a little odd to get used to at first. They are by in large obtained by doing your cultivation quests. Once you have the proper cultivation level you are ableto use the new skills. You then go to the skill trainer where you will use spirit points gained from killing mobs and quest rewards along with some coins. Upgrading skills works exactly the same. Your macros are different than adding single skills to your hot key bar. Sadly you can't rename them, but once you save a macro it works exactly the same as adding a single skill to the hot keys with the only difference that when used you will use each skill added to that particular macro set. In both cases the skills being added to the hot key bar is a simple drag and drop of the skills that you want. You are able to reorder them the same way within the bar itself.
Hope that helps some. The easiest thing is just kinda mess around with the skills until you are happy with how they are set up for your personal play style. I personally have my attack skills, pick up, and meditate in the hot key f1 -f9. I then add my HP and MP pots, pets I use most, mount, and buff/meta skills in the hot bar for 1 -5. In both cases I end up using 2 rows for each of two hot key bars. It took some tinkering to get them both the way I liked, but has been well worth it.0 -
Hey, my friend gave me a Crystaline Magmine (If that's how you spell it) level 34 and I'm level 33 (Veno) and have a level 32 Tarigon Sental, (If that's how you spell it again :P) and I was wondering if I should use the Tarigon right now, or wait and use the Crystaline when I hit level 34. (My friend who gave me the Crystaline is level 60 something ) I also have a Antelope Pup level 33 and should I stay with it? Please respond!!! ^^0

what's a tarigon sental? sorry for fail >>
but the c mag should be worth it... aside from herc it's the best tank in the game
antelope pups are really good magic tanks, but I don't really know much about that >>0 -
Use the magmite, it has better stats.
for ivory if you want new skills, basically they come at different levels, or at the spiritual cultivations everry 9 levels. just check back with the skill trainer every level to see if you have a chance to level up, or get new skills
you can build any way you want, but i do recommend asking questions and reading some guides before deciding, but avoiding senovit's it does contain some outdated names used in the other versions that are not correct names in PWI version, if you would like a decent caster build, check out my own guide once i repair it :P.
as for using skills, just open that same window and drag the skill pic to a hotkey coordinating to the F keys0 -
Switching to fox form or back seems to make the genie re-appear. I still haven't figured out why it disappears.0
