race problem...

My name is adventtruth. Right now I am downloading the game, and I am still thinking about what race I should be. I like the winged elves because they have wings, but I like being a straight up brawler and be upclose and personal. I am not very fond of archery. Is it possible to make a winged elf blademaster?

    So not possible to make a winged BM...lol...although it would be interesting to see.

    No, you can't have a Blademaster with wings.

    You can have an Elf with a sword (axe or poleblade), though. The problem with that is, the Archer is designed will skills that only work with Bows equipped. Using a Sword or other melee weapon would get only the Normal Attack level of damage at best. And you'd have to use different stats, like Strength over Dex.

    On the other hand, you can make a wingless Blademaster and have all the fun of melee with all the bonus skills for the extra damage.

    Or you could try a Cleric. Some of the Magic weapons come as swords - you could have all kinds of attack spells, plus healing and buff spells, wings, AND a sword. They are distance attackers with small HP bars (Archers have small HP too), but at least you'd have options with those Wings.

    I was hoping to create a demonic hero of sorts that wields dual swords and has demon/bat wings. Looks like that won't happen...

    Eh, not in this game unless you want to make a Heavy Armor Cleric but that is SO not a viable build in this game. Although I have seen it b:surrender

    To me it just sounds like you are more of the BM type based on your post.

    I can recommend this: It is VERY easy to level to 20. Roll one od each character and take each to at least level 20. Then decide on what your main class/character will be.

    RedsRose has a good idea going with rolling two and then deciding later. I feel that the race/class limitations work well because they each have their own weakness. Archers and clerics are pretty squishy but at least they can fly. Imagine a BM or a Barb that had wings, kinda OP no?

    I think I will try the cleric with swords. I have another question. Are winged elves female-only? Because all the pics I see of winged elves are of WOmen.

    omg please don't...just make a blademaster just don't make a cleric with swords
