    I went LA til 58 and have been Pure since. LA was nice til the elem mobs came QQ

    lvl1-60 LA, not bad in PvP but PvE isn't that great.. I don't like taking 6 hits to kill a mob.

    i was 1-50 other built and after that reset to pure 50-105 will be pure b:victory

    in game, i see a lot of wizard go for LA when i check their personal info.
    why the LA poll is not much here?

    I started out with sortof the "balanced" build that was shown on one of these wizard guides. It was different in that I had a pure build with some points in VIT. By lvl 30 I decided I was unhappy because I was very vulnerable to physical attacks and it had caused many deaths for me. So, I switched to Light Armor.

    I thought at some point I might switch to Pure, but I'm happy with my Light Armor build. With Level 10 Stone Barrier combined with my armor it's great to see getting melee attacked barely hurting me. Not that I get hurt that much, anyways. Plus I am enjoying my critical hit rate.

    I actually dueled a pure wizard of the same level earlier today. Yeah dueling isn't the same as PKing, but this is just my story. Each match was close, we had a total of 5 rounds. I won the first one pretty easily, I had a critical hit with divine pyrogram, almost killed him with that one hit, then quickly finished with Crown of Flame. (Whatever, I like that spell despite what people say.) I won one other battle, also thanks to a critical hit. He won his rounds with nicely laid strategies and good use of FoW. The last round we had, he used FoW on me then killed me with Blade Tempest.

    I think either way, at least in this situation, it all comes down to your strategy. He was a much better strategist than I was. I just kindof used spells that seemed appropriate for the time, not taking much account into what he was doing. I'll have to work on that.

    Don't worry to much about duels, there's nothing real in those things except the dmg you make. Duels are good to setup combos, to evaluate the dmg you do with a certain spell, to see how much it actually takes to fire off that spell in PvP and what the other can do in the meantime.
    I don't think there is another char in this game that's less equiped to lose a duel than the wizard. We basically have no means to control the opponent.
    In real PvP a lot of things change. Ppl use pots, have charms, a lot of times you're doing the PvP with a squad...
    If you want to duel/PvP at lower lvls you cheapest way is LA or a ****load of cash to refine/socket +70gear ( lower is not worth it at all, not even the 70 is, but hey, a +3 helps with HP) or you don't stand a chance.

    QFT... Wizards don't win duels... if you do that just lets the other player know that he failed in making his character properly.. unless of course its another wizard

    I won some duels against all classes, lost some to all classes. I can say I came out even. But again, PvP is the real thing, duels are just the tune-up for PvP. In PvP you can waste some dmg reduction pots, stun res pots, quick channel pots, chi pots, God knows what else. It make sense, it counts, will make a diference.
    Why do that in Duels? No sain reason.
    I would never compare Duels results with PvP results.
