Does pet stats matter to you?

I always critize ppl when they have snow hares. Everyone knows that they have bad stats, and they still use them.

My brother, on the other hand, thinks that pet stats do not matter in the game.

So, my point is this:
1. Does pet stats matter to YOU?
2. EDIT: question taken out
3. What pet(s) do you use?

Yes, I'm 50/50 on appearances and stats, but I'd choose stats as a priority.
    2.--
    3. What pet(s) do you use?
    Other than the two legendary:
Scorpion (the starter pet) for PVP and DD support if not tanking.
Ninetails for support with debuffs and skill canceling if not tanking.
    Eldergoth Marksmen for luring.
Neglected crystalline magmite for backup DD and one room of the COF because of its slow speed.
    *Celestial Plumpfish water mobs.

Yes, pet stats matter. I have good pets for questing and some not so good pet because they are cute. My main pets are a magmite and frogling, though I need to upgrade the froglings skills.
I didn't really pay attention to stats when I was under level 40, I had a diabolic jester that worked well for me but as the mobs got harder, I needed a better tank.

    Run down on pets:
    Magmite for tanking and grinding
frogling for grinding magic mobs and pulling
foxwing for air mobs (duh), looking to buy leveled petite sawfly.
diabolic jester, used mainly for backup pet and helping faciton members.
undine princess, a crappy unleveled water pet. I need something different.

    Stats, period.

Baby pets are for appearance. Battle pets are for battle. Jack of all trades, master of none.b:victory

    1. Does pet stats matter to YOU?
Of course. But if a pet just bothers me that much and there's one that may have only slightly worse stats, I'll get the different pet.

2.So if pets stats don't matter, what is a good all-around pet?

    3. What pet(s) do you use?
    Baby Hercules
Crystalline Magmite (backup tank if Herc dies...probably won't but I keep it around just in case.)
    Tortoise Everlasting
    Pinnaer Foxwing
Frost Antelope (for looks only, just wanted a pink antelope.)
    Eldergoth Marksman

Something to keep in mind with pets is that not all people look at the forums and know which pets are better than others. Most of the people I have talked to who use a snow hare figured that rare pets had better stats than non-rare pets and heard snow hare was the cheapest rare pet.

Pet stats do matter, but if the two pets being compared are only marginally different, they don't matter as much. At that point it becomes a matter of preference as in: does the marginal difference matter more than the ascetic difference.
