After paying for cashop i'm not just gonna quit, guess I'll just have to buy a radio and mute the entire pc cause of this issue b:angry0

If you go into game setting while in the game, you can turn off the Effects sound. Like you said you did.
I don't know why you would be still getting it...you hit Apply and then Confirm?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I turned down the volume and game effects, and I can't hear any footsteps. Are you still experiencing this issue?

I get the same issue, especially when alt-tabbing between windows. Everything is set down to muted volume, but the foot steps and sometimes fighting sounds appear when switching screens. It usually goes away for me if I go back to settings, slide the volume up and then back down then click confirm. A hassle, but nothing major.0

Try playing in windowed mode, and also check your audio settings in Windows.
Are you using audio in any other programs like IM programs?
Have you updated your audio drivers?
If all else fails...
You can send Tech Support a ticket here: http://support.perfectworld.com/ticketing

It really is not an audio driver glitch. I had the same issue but when you turn all the sound down you have to hit Apply and Confirm instead of just Confirm or just Apply. The footsteps are unusually loud in this game though. Maybe there could be a cash shop items to put pads under each of your character's shoes to muffle the sound.0

That item would be ideal.
No seriously Apply , confirm , all that junk doesn't work like it is suposed to, But I'll try to window mode etc like darth said later this day, and otherwise see if he can troubleshoot it if I send a tech support ticket0 -
The problem still persists.
I send a dxdiag and hijackthis log via tech ticket.
Hope you can help me out0 -
Will I be notified in this thread, or by email?0

This bug happens to me very often when I play Windowed, just like hearing music at full blast when my ingame Music Vol. is set at the minimum.
The only fix I've found is slightly moving the Music/Sound Volume slider up and the back to the minimum again & then applying the changes, that generally fixes it.
Still annoying, though. Hopefully it'll be solved in the future.0 -
Not for me, when I do that, it comes back completely after I click something or jump...0

You fixed my problem completely, the footstep noise is now gone when I turn effects down , and doesn't come back unless I slide the sound effects volume bar up , like it is suposed to.
I believe verify + sound driver update was enough to fix this problem0 -
if this havent been solved.. i just noticed that there might be a pacht that fixed it before, but you got to turn effects volume to max, apply, and then turn down again, that worked for me...
PD: my solution before was turning off the sound of pc lol b:laugh0 -
and people say we don't help by email tickets b:sad b:thanksDo you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?
