There have probably been a few topics on this, but I couldn't find any, so I'm asking myself;
Does anyone have some good advice on how to save fast for Pheonix Feathers?
Thanks!

Don't spend. Anything. Seriously. :P
Don't teleport. Don't buy fashion. Don't buy DQ items. Don't buy quest items. Only buy the skills you ABSOLUTELY need to grind with, even ignore some of the "these are nice but not completely essential to have maxed right now" skills. Catshop all the time with anything you think might sell. It might take a day or two but you'll get the hang of what sells. Don't buy chi stones for your genie. Since you're a veno, you can even get by without buying new armor. Just use anything that happens to drop that's better than the stuff you're currently wearing. Don't upgrade pet skills; simply modify your damage to keep the mob off you. Don't buy potions (use any dropped ones if you happen to need it). Don't buy charms. Don't buy wines/subs to solo anything; it might be tempting but if you're going to solo an FB for molds or HH for mats, farm the mats yourself. Speaking of mats, mine them all and sell those too. And never ever buy them.
Did I mention, don't spend anything?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

Did I mention, don't spend anything?Wow, this is completely the opposite of what I thought I would have to do to save, but then again this is pretty obvious but I never actually thought of any of that. 8D
I grinded from 40% on lvl 41 to 42 last night, it took a hell of a long time and I got super bored, well maybe I was grinding on the wrong mobs, but I made 110k+ from all the DQ items that dropped during my grinding session last night.
So I should keep grinding, and only spend money on food for my pet?
Sounds pretty OK. =D Thanks![SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

yes just keep on grinding. Grinding makes money Fbs dont. Make use of Meta boost Natures Grace and soul transfusion for mana that way you wont need pots to grind. If you are 40+ use the cube to get back to Arch quickly. Less travel time=more grinding time. Cheap teles over long distances are ok example wellspring to City of lost 200 coins but saves time you can make that money back in a mob or 2. less time than flying.
*edit when gold prices are low buy gold from AH(sunday usually good time) and buy battle packs it usually cheaper than buying individual SoF/PF0 -

It's not so hard once you get into it. I've managed to get 1.5k SoF towards my herc in only a few days doing this. I've been throwing stuff into auction rather than catshop however, as I'd rather spend the time farming than sitting around trying to sell stuff.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

BTW, the advice on the teleports is wrong. If in the time you save by teleporting, you could get enough loot to offset the cost of the teleport, then you make more money by paying for the teleport.Ophida - Dreamweaver wrote: »It's not so hard once you get into it. The low-cost and stackable stuff like DQs and crafting mats sell better on cat shops. People can buy exactly as many of them as they need. The high-cost stuff (e.g. molds) sell better at the auction house. Stuff that's worth a lot but doesn't stand out sells better on cat shops too. I once got a +8 dex level 30ish evasion necklace. People that level generally don't look for things on auction, and especially not evasion items, so it didn't sell after listing a couple times. I put it on a cat shop advertising +8 dex and it sold in one night.
Grinding is probably the simplest way to make the money, but it's constrained by the loot drop rate programmed into the game. Buying low and selling high (either via cat shop or the auction house) bypasses those limits and lets you earn money much more quickly once you get good at it.0 -

Not all of us are able to have the computer on 24/7. So while I appreciate what you say, this isn't always practical.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Im making an alt veno for money, and would it be better to just grind my whole way through 20's and 30', just diehard grinding, or do all my quests? From pure moneymaking viewpoint, what would be the best?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

Do your quests; you'll need the spirit for skills. You could probably make a *little* more not doing them (maybe) but you'll need the spirit regardless.
Once you have venomous and ironwood maxed, grind away.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Get a xmas blessing if you dont already have one. It saves ALOT from feeding your pets. Sure it may be like a mil but you will quickly earn that back.
Only repair your weapon. Most of the time you only have to repair that anyway but yeah. Dont do dragon quest. If you have time to cat shop, try selling the dqs in there or just npc them. Dont try camping rare pets unless you happen to be there. Sure you could do the controversial thing and sell them but you would be wasting time on a sure thing of grinding. When you grind you know you will always get money + exp. When you camp a rare pet, unless you are the only one, there's a chance your time will be wasted if you dont get to tame it.
On my veno i grind, sell everything i get and continue. I can make about a 300k-500k and thats when i dont spend the whole day on my veno. I know i could make more, but lvling archer atm. Its really easy to make money on the veno imo. If you get pots killing mobs keep them unless you get ganked. And always always do quests, they give you money. ^_^[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
eatswithspoons "*roll eyes* real money for virtual property? That's definitely not allowed"

Damn, xmas blessing for a mill? I've seen em for 500k on sanc, and tome fragments for 30k each.
On topic: grind, grind grind, get magmite then solo TT. Actually, depending on your server a magmite cant solo much and drops wont cover sub and time expenses.
TBH, I got my herc with bare minimum grinding (only doing quests), rest of the time I did TT and other veno money making activities.I was early taught to work as well as play,
My life has been one long, happy holiday;

i made an alt veno, then got it to lvl 20 and started farming the rhinos outside of arch, they drop hay often, and that can sel anywere from 6-8k a pop. also like everyone says, don't buy anything. i still dont have my herc, but HAY im working on it.
(in case u didn't get it, FARM RHINO'S AND ANTELOPES PUPS(later on) FOR HAY) i would make an alt for this if i were u. and don't do quests, u may lvl fast but u don't get much money from them. grind on mobs only and u can get ALOT of cash in very little time.
EDIT:u can do cult quests since they mainly give spirit, basically u want to keep ur xp down, so if u want, die a few times to keep it down when hay farming. especially antelopes since they have highest drop rate. farm and die that is actually the best way i can think of right now.0
