Which class would be the best for me? (options inside)

Ok, so I currently have a Cleric as my main (only lvl 17, but I have a hard time only playing one character for a long time on MMO's), and I was thinking about starting another character once I hit 20-30. The problem is, I'm not sure what class to choose.

I want a damage dealer class, so I was thinking Wizard, but I heard that Wizards aren't that great early on and don't start to really output a lot of damage until higher levels. I was also thinking of maybe a blademaster, but I don't really know alot about them, aside from the fact that they're usually a tank. Finally, I've been really intrigued by Venomancers and have always gravitated towards classes with pets (played a Hunter up to 55 in WoW before any of the expansions). How are Veno's at dealing damage with a tank pet, and while using pets do Venos usually stay back and cast or can they get up close and use Fox form?

Thanks in advance for any help.

In your case, it seems you want a DD, so that rules out WB (Werebeasts, barbarians) I suggest to not be a BM (mainly becuz i never tried it b:surrender) In your case you should try a venomancer, they do rediculous dmg when accompanied by their pet. Its an easy class, and its very cheap coin wise. If your really interested, i got some good pet eggs you can have just whisper me in-game, either GodlyHealz or ChilledPanda.. I will be on GodlyHealz today becuz im in my cleric phase right now. Good pet eggs such as Volcanic Magmite (lvl 18 req), and Frozen Wolfmaster (lvl 20 req) the lvl requirements i just posted up is because as a Venomancer, you cannot have a pet be higher level than you. Also, when your lvl 7 i believe you get a skill called "Tame Pet" which allows you to go catch a pet. And in your inventory when you first begin, there will be 200 bottles of water that are darkened or not lit up. They are for you pets loyalty level, the higher the loyalty level the more xp your pet will gain and such. Remember, you need to give you pet a bottle of water around every 5-10 minutes, early on when he has no loyalty at all (Its the yellow bar) then give them to him asap. When your pet has around 600 or more loyalty it will increase its dmg output and will give him a 150% increase to xp (i think, i havnt played my veno in a while, im trying here :P)

For starters, when you get to lvl 7 you will be asked to go kill either a Wolfling or a Scorpion ( i keep forgetting their names) I suggest you kill the Wolfling because its simply better. When you kill it, it will drop a pet egg that you need to pick up in order to finish the quest. Grab the wolfling egg and go back to the Pet trainer you got the quest from. Here you will need to go to "Hatch Pet Egg" once you click that, you will drag your egg from your inventory to the aligned spot, then click hatch obviously. Once thats completed, press "P" for your "Pet Bag" you will only be able to hold 2 pets in your pet bag in the beginning, you can get pet cages and such later on.

Press "Call" on the new pet, and whalah, your wolfling will be following you around. Another thing, when your lvl 3 go to the pet trainer and go to "Pet Skills, or "Tame Pet" and get the "Rez pet" and "heal Pet" skills, they are a must have. When your pets out, he will have its own skill bar, and on the left side of the skill bar there are icons that look like eyes and a claw and a few others. Hover your mouse over each icon until you find the one that says "Attack Automatically" make sure thats highlighted. Because when you cast your spell on the enemy, your pet will imediately run to enemy and most of the time grab aggro. There is still so much to tell you, PM me ingame, i dont know when i will be on today, but i can give you those pet eggs quick becuz theyre in my safe. The Volcanic Magmite will be your best friend through and through, they have alot of health and defense as well and are great tanks.

One more thing, when you attack an enemy, use the venomous scarab (early lvls ofc) and wait for a few seconds for your pet to make it to the enemy and let it get aggro, then start spammin venemous again, just a suggestion once you get higher lvl and fight enemies that only your pet can tank. Theres much more to tell you, add me to your friends if im on or something.. I will 100% be on GodlyHealz today and probably all next week too. I will get on my veno and give em to ya.. See ya soon

Thanks for all the help and info. Do you have any experience with Wizards? I've heard that they are great DD's. Also, as a Veno is it better for Dmg output to be a caster Veno and use the parasites or go Werefox and attack alongside your pet?

I have some wizzy experience. They are a tough class to play, at least up until the 40's. You will be doing a lot of Kiting. Lots of running. And if your not careful, lots of dieing.

But, if you can live through that, you can easily become a great DD. Sometimes, so much that it becomes hard to find people willing to take you on FB runs. You will tend to pull lots of aggro.

My experience with Venos is a pure Magic Veno. It is a super easy class to play solo. You have a little more in game management, with having pets, but its not bad. They do really good damage, especially when you consider your pet is dealing damage too.

I would suggest a Veno over a wizard, just cause they are much more versatile. A veno or a BM. I know, above the poster said no to a BM, but again, they are pretty self sufficient, they have lots of HP, can use many different weapons, and have a self heal.

    Good luck
Don't let my level confuse you. I've done this before.
