Can somebody pease tell me exactly how to get past this room. This is the 2nd Have a listen challenge. I found tat the first mob from the right is fake but cant make out which is the 2nd fake mob.i keep dieing while trying to get close and listen to the sound made by the mob.... The guide is not very clear on how to cross this room . And i keep landing on this room b:cry

Sometimes i have moved slowly towards one of the mobs in that room,never a single sound has come out yet suddenly i'm koed,can't figure out if its a bug or just my speakers only ever fudge up in that exact moment.Quit 100%...and surprised my forum account wasn't banned...yet0

Well, there is no standar path to follow on room 27, mobs changing positions whenever a player passes it, so...
Turn music COMPLETELY off, leave only the sound effects on.
Approach each mob from great distance s l o w ly.
When you hear the fire effect, just try the next one until you find out the one that doesnt have a sound effect.
Go THROUGH that mob and slowly approach the next one in line.
If the next one in line also makes a sound that means you got to move diagonal, but that happens rare.

I pretty much always have to move diagnally.. And be careful people. There have been times when the mob turned aggressive on me out of NOWHERE when I had passed the second one and somewhat far from itb:shockedb:sad
One thing that REALLY helps is when your approaching the mob, turn the view so that you're facing yourself (So the view is towards where the mob is)
It seems to help hear the flames in enough time, and go slow.

Often I found that the diagonal one killed me most. Later when I tried that room, I found it had been diagonal again, so I backed out and tried the other enemies. And there was a straight path on another.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

Strangely, the first like 8 time I did the cube, it was always the same diaganol mobs. Then when it kept killing me I was like wtf?0

I now have a 100% success rate in this room and can tell you the technique.
First turn your music down and effects all the way up.
There are 2 rows of mobs. Randomly 2 in the first row will be safe and 2 in the back. This makes a 70% chance there is a completely clear path. Try to find this path first
Test a mob by walking towards it carefully, if it makes a burning sound be sure to walk all the way backwards to safety before moving right or left to the next mob. Finding the 2 clear mobs in the first row should be trivial as is testing the mobs immediately behind them.
If you found a clear path you are good. If you couldnt you will have to move at a diagonal. The good news is that given there are only 3 mobs on the back row that are unknown and we know 2 of them are safe. This means a 66% chance that a given diagonal will be safe.
To walk a diagonal do NOT simply walk towards the mob you think may be safe. Because of the differences in spacing vertically and horizontally this path is not 45 degrees and will take you closer to one of the dangerous mobs. Instead you want to walk EXACTLY on a path between the 2 known dangerous mobs so that you are never closer to one than the other. In geometric terms you should walk along the perpendicular bisector of the line segment between the two dangerous mobs so that you are equidistant to both.
As you are walking you will hear both burning sounds at the same time out of both ears. Walk slowly and try to hear if a third burning sound joins the first two. If it does back out and try any other diagonal.
Here is an example of how to move when a diagonal path is required... the black dots are safe mobs, the purple dangerous, the green circle is the burning sound and the red circles are death. The blue is the path you should take starting on the right and backtracking after each test. notice the slight backtrack you should do when walking the diagonal. Because of spacing the diagonal is NOT 45 degrees and you are NOT walking towards a suspected safe mob.

Since you appear to be a veno there's a special strategy you can use.
1. Summon Pet.
2. Send pet to attack one of the mobs.
3. Halt pet before it attacks, if it's an aggro mob your pet will die.
4. Repeat until you find a safe path.
If it's an angle mob send your pet at the angle you would be approaching the mob at to see if it's a safe path.0 -

this room resets every few minutes i like to play safe and wait until 2nd STRAIGHT pair from left or right side is free then just go straight through
so every few minutes you can go either
x|xxx (i tend to get this setting more often)

or

xxx|x
(some of those x are actually non explosive even in those situation but you get the idea for which 2 straight paths the room cycles through)0 -
