As the topic says, Should I get it? First off it looks pretty cool when casted and at level 1 it gives like 6K++ of damage and stuff so it's like the archer's version of a cleric's tempest lmao. I'm planning to go Demon path tho, just wanted to know if this is a skill worth getting and maxed if yes :) Any pro high level archers care to give some suggestions? Thank youb:cute

don't bother getting that skill. wait until you have all your other skills, except the DoT ones maxed, then you may consider getting that skill to lvl 1.

this is arguably the worst archer skill as 2 sparks for a skill is bad enough. then to top it, it is DoT skill, which is completely against the soul purpose of an archer: kill stuff asap before your foes tear you apart.

it is absolutely useless in pvp, as your target can easily get rid of the DoT by using apo pots. well in pve, you are much better off saving the chi and use other more useful skills, as for normal mobs, they are dead before the DoT time wears out; for bosses, it'll be much better and easier to just auto attack.

the only reasons you would get that skill are:
    1)it looks good
    2)for completion's sake

I find this skill VERY useful to solo certain bosses, which I do a lot helping people in my faction. The DoT is quite nice, but the main reason for me to use it is the 30% slow that lasts those 30 seconds. Mix it with Frost Arrow's 50% and melee bosses are pretty much stuck running in place.

That skill is as useful as a magic sword to an archer. Its damage is **** at best. And the cost (2 sparks) make the skill SO not worth it. I got my to level one just for the sake of having it... and because I have so much spirit that they started to decay.
    1. If I kill you; do something about it yourself, don't go complaining to my wife.
    2. If you have less kill counts then me, don't expect me to take pk advice from you.
    3. If you are hiding behind an alt, don't expect me to acknowledge your existence.

    its a horrible horrible skill.

the only use i can think of is in pvp to make others lose concentration when they laugh at you.

If you use it on a boss it creates a huge lightning animation that blinds everyone else. That's the best use for it really. When I want to distract people I go into a long full metal combo.

thunder shock -> lightning strike -> thunderous blast -> thunder shock -> lightning strike -> stormrage eagleon -> thunder shock -> lightning strike -> thunderous blast -> thunder shock -> lightning strike

It is very flashy and is especially bad for tanks whose entire screen is filled with lightning effects.

So... uh... hmm... how do I phrase this tactfully...

Is Demon version of Stormrage Eaglon more blinding than the normal one?

Hmmm.... I'm not 99 yet but I doubt it. I'll probably put one of the books in the AH for 1 coin and see what happens.

why is it called eagleon anyways? do they just troll us all with random typos at ability names? "lets just add 'on' behind it so that archers may also sound stupid when they talk about it"

I actually did it before :P
Thundershock->Lightning Strike->TB->Stormrage Eagleon. Not to mention the cleric used wield thunder. Tank stops using aggro skills and I caught it ._.

I use it now and then at level 1 on bosses, to slow me down when I'm aggro stealing (or rather, trying not to aggro steal) from near-my-level tanks.

The fact it's not that much damage up front is actually a bonus and the DOT lets me feel like I'm actually still being vaguely useful and not just standing around being enormously cute. Not like I get to let lose with spark eruptions under those conditions anyway unless I want to get squished real fast, so blowing 2 sparks on it is not really a problem.

And darn it, but it does look cool. And flashy and blinding for everyone else (*furiously copying down the big flash combo for trying out*)

Wow so it seems to me that the damage is actually crappy despite its description saying 6k++ at Level 1...b:sad Um, pardon me for asking again but well since Eagleon is not exactly that useful, what about ThunderBlast? Should it be maxed? Thanks peepssb:chuckle

Eventually yes. Thunderous Blast is your single most damaging metal skill and is one of your AOEs. Important for TW, PVP, and AOE grinding.

lolol, USEFUL>? You know what you can use that 2 sparks on instead of a pointless skill? A freaking advanced spark eruption...

No reason to waste 2 sparks trying to slow a mob/player when you can use 1 spark to completely stop them for 8 seconds with aim low.

Try this on barbarian catapult pullers...

(Stormrage will slow them down for 30 seconds, and istormrage's slow stacks with frost arrow, and you can not necessarily kill a barb in 8 seconds and aim low does not always stop them.)

i say use those 2 sparks on eruption and other metal spells...you'll definitely deal more damage in those 30s

the plus side of using other metal attacks is that they can crit, while eagleon's ticks do not

in a tw there are way better classes at slowing someone anyways...

I think the skill is pretty bad under most circumstances. Only reason an archer might use this move is if he/she is fighting a boss. Its a good DoT attack, but the chi cost makes it rather.... meh...

In a TW, a single archer does not bring down an enemy catapault puller. Your job is to tooth the barb, throw a metal debuff on him, and stop him long enough for your robes to finish him off as you go kill his clerics.

I use aim low on catapault pullers all the time... works well. Slowing them down 30% over 30s is equivalent to just 10s of effective stopping. Over 30 seconds you could have cast aim low twice and stop them for 16s. Chain it with a stun and you get 19s.

Better yet there is actually a genie skill "Stunning Blast" which can stop for 6 seconds (it doesnt stun btw). Image 8 seconds of stop followed by 3 seconds of stun followed by 6 seconds of stop followed by 8 seconds of stop and another 3 second stun. You just single-handedly locked that cat down for 30 seconds.
