Hello! I just downloaded and installed the game. My friend used to play this before it went International and we were getting bored with our other game. >.<'
What are the major differences between PvP on the two types of servers? I got a small chance to play with the character customization and I just thought the elves and the animal thingies were too cute! =3 I was thinking about either making an Archer or the female class for the beast race. What do all of you like best about both of those classes?
I was hoping to make some friends in the game since it was really hard to in the game I'm coming from. =(
I think that's everything for now since I haven't been able to play yet because of the maintenance. >.< I just wanted to ask a few questions and say hi to everyone! ^.^

theyre both fairly powerful endgame, id go with the archer though.
in any case, PVE = you can choose when to PVP other players,
PVP = always have to deal with fighting players any time after level 300 -
lol the female beast is a venomancer it can tame pets to control to do it's bidding lol, thats the only real upper there lolz, although they have cute pets too lol archers are pretty good at killing veno's though lol and run funny veno is magical with a pet, archer is ranged physical ith a touch of mag...0

So on a PvE server, you don't actually PvP unless you "flag"? My friend thinks that's how it works on Perfect World International. And you don't actually start PvPing on a PvP server until after level 30?
I think I will probably play an Archer, I like to hide in the back. XD

I played a veno first and I have to say, I can't stand any other class now. xD If you really want to experience game play and get to know the best class just for you, make a char in each class and play them till lvl 10. Unfortunately, archers don't hide in the back unless you're in a squad, and even then they do high damage so they end up getting the mob angry at THEM. Venomancers are simply the easiest and(to me) the most fun. But I love cute things and pets, so although I tried every class I'll always love veno more. YOu never really have to worry about repairing equipment or lvling skills because your pet does all the work. Get a good pet and you're pretty much set for and easy gaming experience where you can solo most quests and bosses by yourself.
And because no one has done so yet, I welcome you to PWI and hope you enjoy the game. ;30 -

I'm not sure if I need a pet, my friend makes a good pet. =3 If he reads this then he will deny it, but he's a pet. XD I think I will take your advise and try out a few classes though. [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

Lol, well if you know you can play with someone all the time you're on, an archer is a good choice if they can keep the mob angry at them. But if your class/build has to rely on someone taking the hits for them, it'll be a pain doing stuff yourself if he ever quits or stops playing as often. Wizards and clerics are kind of like that, you can still solo stuff but it'll take longer and you'll die easier if all doesn't work out well.0 -

About your avatar, go to the top of your screen where you see your avatar on your right and click it. YOu can choose your avatar of the characters you've mad. But you will have to have made a character to get their icon. ;30 -

What type of server is that? I also had a question that I asked earlier about PvP/PvE servers that no one answered so I think I'll ask again. XD

Heaven's Tear [HT] is PVE [Player versus Environment].
On PVP servers, when you get to level thirty you're in PK mode 4ever and ever. Meaning you can kill anyone else above level thirty and be killed by anyone above level thirty.
On PVE servers, when you get to level thirty you have the option of entering PK Mode. It lasts for ten hours. On PVE servers, joining in PVP is optional.

i think server maint ends 1 AM PST, +1-3 hours for other US time zones, 8+ if youre european0

Well if you were interested in pvp~ venos and archers are both great at it, in their own ways. I'd have to say archers have the highest damage end game.. with dex builds.. simply because of the insane amount crits e___e;;
Venos are far more versatile. They're the only class to have two seperate skill trees which give you magic and melee skills. (Like you actually need STR for the melee attacks and MAG for the magic
. You can have all different kinds of builds that work well too.
