Will of the phoenix?

Hey all, was wondering if any of you have had this happen to you or can explain what happened here? Today I was helping a friend with an oracle quest by just pushing it back occasionally with phoenix and force of will, but ended up going pink whenever she was between the mob and me. All of my safeties were on; that was the first thing I checked. I teamed her and that solved the issue with her; but when someone else dropped down in front of us who also needed the mob, the aoe hit him. Other than than some kind of bug, I can't think of any reason that will of the phoenix would hit them with all safeties on but being in a squad makes it so they don't get hit...any thoughts? Thanks

    it's an aoe, and you're running it through someone where pvp is enabled.

    i don't see the problem here.

    The problem is my pvp protection was on, so the skill never should have hit her...period.

    it's a bug. 2 times i were white and got invitation to fb59. suddenly gone pink inside. all squad mates were blue.

    bzzt! Wrong.

    AoEs that target mobs interact differently with protections than AoEs that target players. Test it out for yourself. Then submit a ticket, please. b:surrender

    protection or not,
    I have learned this the hard way, many times, Apologise, heal him/her, maybe buff, and assure him/her you didn't mean to hit him/her.

    same happened 2 me, and i'm also on PvE server... hm

    Actually I've used dragon's breath with protection on. White names run through it for fun and no one gets hit. But the second they go pink while in my AoE they get hit and I turn pink from hitting them accidentally. One thing you can do is check damage logs if you have it turned on. It helps to determine if it's really him you're hitting.
