PWI won't update?

ive just downloaded the game at ver. 1 and it says i need to update but when i try to it stays on console_cmd.txt then says cant connect to server.
ive tried using Manual update but it says it cant connect to the server.

can anyone help!!

    Have you tried verifying your client files?

    Open the patcher - click verify - wait - update if everything is okay

    Else turn off your antivirus, some times routers block some ports, if you have access to your router configuration try opening the needed ports (use the search button to find other topics about this).

    The servers are currently down for maintenance so rigght now can't update anyway. :(

    Please wait another 2 hours and 5 minutes for the servers, and patch servers, to be back up.
    Do you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?

    when i verify it brings up the update settings i press conirfm and then i does the same thing
    also when i click update it brings up a box that says downloading files... main-bg.bmp
    then says connection interupted.

    im gonna check if turning firewal off helps



    P.s. @ darthpanda16 still dosnt work or me

    just tried turning the firewalls off it still does the same thing

    re downloaded client and now it says i have ver. 37, but the problem still occurs, i can start the game but when i go to log in it says cannot connect to server

    Edit: never mind now it wont start i press start and it just disappear and nothing happens!

    edit2: i think im missing files because there is no console_cmd.txt in my pwi folder

    this is a serious problem that from what i can tell, a lot of new people are having. It needs to be fixed cuz a lot people are not gonna take the time to fix this problem, they're just gonna go on to the next game on their list.

    i'm having the exact same problem.

    1) the patch errors at console_cmd.txt and gives a failed to connect to server error

    2) I have installed this game 3 different times and can not get by this error

    3) Manual patch will NOT work because it gives the same error (tho i dont know why it needs to connect to ther server at all)

    4) my sister plays this game 10 feet from me on the same network without problem

    5) BOTH mine and my sisters computers time out when trying to ping pwipatch.perfectworld.com (explain that one =/ lol)

    6) I've tried many different times over the last 10+ days to patch.

    7) I tried using a copy of her installation folder to play the game. It verifies the game at the latest patch and loads perfectly, but can not connect to any servers.

    I really want to play perfect world, but it wont take much longer before i give up =/ i really dont know what else to try. (i did email support, i'm waiting for a response)

    same thing is happening to my friend, i just suggested he try this game because ofhow much i like it and he is already thinking he don't like it because of thisb:shocked

    yeah, its reall frustrating because i tried to play this game a couple months ago too and ended up just deleting it cuz i couldnt get it to work... same issue. i thought i'd try again hoping the problem would have been fixed by now.... but sadly it hasnt. they need to get on this problem, its gonna detern a lot of business for them. I have no problems if i try to play other games. no internet issues, nothing.... only with this game.

    Then i choose automatic and confirm. Now it updating file "console_cmd.txt"
    NOW it says file download erro. SO what should i do?? Please help.

    omg... seriously?!?!?! READ PREVIOUS POSTS, MANUAL PATCH DOES NOT WORK!!!

    seriously..... i'm sorry admins but you need to do your job a little better. read my post on page 1 where i list the things tried and failed.... everyone is getting the same error, manual patch wont work for any of us!!

    I think that maybe GM don't care about me anymore :-( it mean I can't joint this game with them.. Feel so sad..b:cryb:sadb:surrender

    Alright let me get this all straight before I try to provide you with some answers.

    You've never gotten the game to run successfully, the updater tells you that it needs an update but when it runs, the update times out and tells you that the connection failed. Am I missing anything?

    First off, do you have the following installed?
    -East Asian Language Pack (included on your windows CD, but not automatically installed)
    -Traditional Chinese Language Pack
    -Simplified Chinese Language Pack
    If you're not sure or you know that you don't, go here:

    This will show you how to check for (and install) the East Asian language pack, and the post directly below it will show you where to go to install the other two.

    I do not know if this will help anyone, but I was not able to play -- I could not start, i could not update, i could not verify.

    And then I realized...

    I shut down my launcher and went into task manager and deleted elementclient.exe from my process list and now I can start...

    That's great news! From what jame has described i believe his issue may be a bit more complicated that yours, but any suggestion helps and I appreciate it.

    i have all the language packs installed, thats not the problem.

    i dont know if this is related, but i'm running vista ultimate and it wont work.

    my sister is running vista home premium on the same network and has no problem playing the game.

    everyone getting this problem, what version of windows are you using?

    WOW Mr GM EatWithSpoon!!!! now it works. cuz i installed the chines language..
    And now i can update the patch. !!!!
    I think the problem is about the chines language at all.. Now m waiting it to complete but i dont know if it still have a problem. i'll need your help Mr GM. Anyways, thanks a lots..

    Wow Mr.GM Eatwithspoons!! NOW IT works. i just installed the chines language and now i see that it starting to download the files.. And now im waiting it to complete.. I think that the problem in my computer is about chines language. But i still dont know if it can finished patching or not.. Anyway,, thank alots Mr.GM Eatwithspoons..
