Okay guys...patch notes for May 27 doesn't mention the memory leak has been fixed...does this mean it's not fixed? Good grief...I don't even wanna log in now -___-

if they dont introduce the updated hardware tonight, they could have just been testing it. Might not as simple as it seems i really dont know yet we have to wait till the servers are up

I know it's complicated to fix, or at least I've seen people say so. I profess no knowledge of the inner workings of this here computational device. I only know it sucks. Majorly. It effected TW this week, and that's so unbelievably crappy.

I don't expect a quick fix...but this is the 2nd update since the problems began...and it's not a "minor" problem when it seems to slow down the processes of the majority of the servers.

I know they are working on it...but it doesn't make it any less lame-o.

    Then Huzzah for PWI!

Actually, no...not all over the website...but as it's a fix, and they usually mention fixes in patch notes (that's what they are there for)...it had me worried.

No way in hell I'm reading the entire weekly post-a-thon that happens in the maintenance thread.

For a program of this nature it can be rather difficult to correct something like this without it affecting something else unintentionally. So it may be fixed in theory, just not completely tested, which I would hope PWI would do extensivly before releasing it.

I have not seen any of these memory leak affects on my main computer but but on one of my less used computers I do. So even though it seems to affect the vast majority it's also not affecting everyone. So that alone makes it even more difficult to correct.

    what is memory leak?

A Memory Leak is normally caused by badly programmed code.

To my knowledge, this is how it happens. Your game/program uses memory, now for some reason it requires more memory (like loading a new land/area), but it does not "release" the memory it doesn't need anymore. Hence, a program that normally uses 700mb of your page file, now uses 1.5 gig or more (i've seen my client go up to 2 gig b:shocked)
And that is a memory leak, in short it is caused by crappy programming. And it causes major lag (PC lag, not server/internet) no matter where you go.

The only fix is to restart your client. I had to restart my PC once to get it fixed.

The devs have been far too busy, fixing the genies to how they should have been when they were released and adding new ways to get more money, to worry about about something as trivial as a game crashing memory leak.

I know the insane lag in archosaur has gone back down to normal. Meaning I can actually see things faster than a slide show.

    AKA: No real lag anymore.

During this past week's maintenance, we upgraded the tech of our servers. Since then the lag as well as the memory leak seems to have subsided.

If you still encounter any issues or client crashes, feel free to let us know as we're monitoring the issue closely still.

I don't know if it's due to the memory leak, or not, but there has been rampant lag and D/C's all over Sanctuary for the last half an hour or so. I don't think I've ever seen this many D/Cs, and I wasn't even affected by the memory leak beforehand.

The memory issue still exists. I was focused to reboot my machine after standing in west arch for about a hour to check cat-shop and auction last night. I also see more and more dc for no reason. I do appreciate the new features added to the game, but if I have to give up to go to west arch and dced again and again while I am fighting HH boss, I rather do not have genie.

It won't be an overnight fix people.. Age of Conan had the Memory leak issue for SEVERAL MONTHS..It's not supposed to be an easy fix.. But, PWE seems to be on it with almost everything they do, all of you babies and whiner's just are new to mmo's maybe or just plain too stupid to see it. Give it time, the game is still playable.b:bye

I've had the same problem in Dreamweaver. In the past 10 minutes, I have been DC'd 5 times in a row. That has NEVER happened to me before, so I highly doubt it's my system or connection, as everything else has been fine. This just started happening in the past few days. I don't know if it's due to the memory leak, but it is getting kind of annoying, especially when I get DC'd almost immediately after logging on. Really hope it gets fixed soon.

Yes, we're babies and whiners for letting them know we're still having an issue when they stated for us to let them know if we are still having an issue. I think I see a logicfail.

I think I see one of those idiots who spam up the forums with their bitching.(Sorry ToS, but this one's for you PWE) Don't expect it to be fixed that easy, you're being ridiculous. They don't need to be told countless times with people getting all upset. They probably half expected there to still be issues. The point of the post is to know it's still a problem, and be patient kid.
Stop acting all smart, you're horrible at it.

Yes, my 26 posts are obviously forumspam of all bitching. And I'm very upset. My blood pressure is rising as we speak. I saw that the GM had posted something stated they were keeping an eye on the issue and so I stated that I was still having the issue. Obviously that was spam. Many posts involved with that. I have no expectations that this will be an easy fix. And I have no expectations that the GMs can do anything about it except let the developers know. But you know what? They have no idea people are still having a problem unless we let them know we still are. I didn't start a separate thread about it. I posted in a thread that was related to the issue. So insult all you wish, but at least I'm staying on topic. The memory leak issue is not fixed for me personally, and I know it's not fixed for other people that I know as well.

Relax. o.0 I didn't even read all of that. If my post had nothing to do with you, then it had nothing to do with you. Dont get all worked up in that case.. lmao...You know how everyone is, and can be. There's two separate threads with a pool on the catshop in arch atm.. Maybe I am just bad luck. I do not have a pro machine, but when a core 2 duo with 4GB memory could not handle standing in west arch for more then a hour, there must be something have to be done.

Vista is actualy good, if you spend the hours it takes to customize it.
The problem is most people do not know how do set their OS, so they have problems. After being blasted by clueless people, MS locked down windows with Vista, so "regular" people can be safe. Unfortunatly, that means that the computer runs like ****, and nothing really works, since everything is only allow to run at minimun capabilities. Once you "configure" Vista, it works like the a charm.
Too often we loose sight of life's simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you, it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, BUT, it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and slap that mother#$@%#^! upside the head.

I think the main reason there is so much complaining is that the game went from being one the most smoothly running games ever played to being a crash fest and the reason was a patch that just added tinkerbell to the game (which is a patch that many people could have done without). If we had been used to instability there would be less complaining, but we only have to put up with it because of an untested (and unnecessary) patch. I for one would have been just fine with genies being added a year from now after the other versions of the game had plenty of time to test and tweak them. I like the fact that all our patches work perfectly because we have foreign versions of the game that act like test servers for us.
