A Question for Sages

Is it a good idea to upgrade element mastery? ecatomb says, "Sage version always increases [Element] damage by 25%."

I plan on going sage. Does this mean it sets it to 25% or does it ADD 25% to what you have?

It means that when you get the Sage Fire/Water/Earth Mastery book you will get 25% extra damage instead of just 20% for non-sage/demon or 20%+1% crit for demons.
And yes, it's an extraordinarily good idea to upgrade those skills. No dmg wiz = fail wiz.

Sorry, I'm half asleep and confused. Are you saying you that, after sage and upgrading mastery to 10, you will have 45% extrage dmg?

If you're getting just 25% it seems like a waste to level them. If it's going to be 25% in the end no matter what, you really don't need to.

No. Listen. it upgrades the damage to 25%, not by 25% the ecatomb's english translator is off >.<
It is a good idea considering that 5% of like 16k magic dmg is an extra 1.7k or so ( quick math dont kill me) which is a good 300 or so on people.

here this will help you decide:
Sage - More for TW and stuff.
Demon- Good for controlling enemy 1v1 (thru use of stuns, chance to save sparks, more crits)

theres a guide from a lvl 101 wizard with full 8jun (200k rep armor O.o) and hes demon and he loves his stuns. its a pretty good guide.

    Also heres arguments
Sage- Extra chi. a wizard without chi is a dead wizard. i have died many times while trying to blink away when i have no chi :P.

Demon- Stunning is great. Stun with hailstorm @ a high distance and cast mountain seize (6 second stun ftw) and have a 20% chance to not cost a spark ( i think)
and if it does cost a spark, blink away spark, sutra combo (if they arent dead alrdy >.<

There u go. as u can see, Demon 1v1, Sage crowd PvP ( thru extra chi, therefore more nukes, etc.) I'm not super informed, but I have looked @ it.

You do not automatically get these skills. You must:

    1) Have the book
    2) Have *level 10* of that skill

So if you leave it at level 1, you can't just upgrade to the level 11 (sage version) and skip the intervening levels.

    So yes, upgrade.

ya and 25% is amazing, it is adding 1/4 of your damage to your attack all the time! its like the warsoul which pops on 50% of your damage and adds it to it.
Sins are Scissors. Psychics are Rocks.
Archers, Venos, Barbs, Wizards, BMs, Mystics, Seekers are Paper.
    ...and Clerics are Mushrooms.
Paper beats Rock. Scissors beats Paper. Scissors also happens to beat Rock...until Rock gets 50k+ soulforce at which point Rock becomes an unstoppable killing machine that beats Paper... and would beat Scissors but it can't find Scissors, because Scissors are invisible.
So Scissors beat Paper and avoids Rock, and that is called BALANCE. -cheze

A million coins to get 5% more damage?
    Count me in.

    Thats if the book drops.
Otherwise, we're talking... a lot more money.

What is this book I keep hearing about?

LVL 11 skills, or the Sage/Demon versions of each skill require a book before it can be learnt.

Books can only be gotten through a few means, most common are the pyro/gush/stone rain books which are drops from bosses in FB89.

FoW/Glacial/Blade Tempest/Ice Dragon and mountain seize can be made via pages of fate which is a reward from the cube of fate to 90+. 30 pages needed result random.

    Emberstorm
    Distance Shrink
    Wellspring Quaff
    Dragon's Breath
    Fire Mastery
    Water Mastery
    Earth Mastery
    Frostblade
    Will of Phoenix
    Sandstorm
All can be gotten via Old book page trades. Old book pages are are made using book credit cards (10 of) these are also gotten via the cube, advanced cube to be specific. Rooms 51-60 give 1-2 credit cards depending on the room. The devil room gives you one per defeated boss so 5 max i think. Advanced cube is very expensive, will cost at least 1 mil per day.

The remaining spells are drops off FB99 bosses from Heaven or Hell, and are pretty rare.
