    But seriously, ouch. The glitch is full of lulz but there's too big of a helping of doom with that if someone or something unfriendly comes up on you.

    Yea, you can't do anything but relog when this happens. Best to try to run away to safe zone when it happens to relog.

    but i agree...this is a really bad glitch, and i hope they fix it! was it just you, or was it specific spots on that ridge?

    Some do it solely for the sake of it, whether it's attention-seeking, anti social personality disorder or plain immaturity related. It is sad to imagine how they spend all or most of their online leisure time dumping obscene messages everywhere because they can (and find it amusing). Another reason could be that they are under a lot of stress or trouble and it's their way of stress relieve, by taking it out on others.
