Invasion Idea

As we all know, now and again there are invasions of level 40+ beasts here there and everywhere...

BUT...

The murderous side of me would love to see Etherblade City itself over-run by level 40+ stuff... not just that city but the others too... and maybe a quest for the level 20+ players to venture carefully into the Thousand Streams area... just to test their courage... get it?

And, why not program an organised army to roam the map? I mean a real organised enemy army, to get us all thinking properly about tactics of either how to run away or finish the army off by working together. Once the army is killed off it can always re-appear from another corner of the map...

The reason why I think this idea would work is that it would create a sense of need, responsibility even, for the higher level players to patrol and work together with the noobs...

Too complex maybe?

    I like the idea of the roaming army, though there's a problem. If there's no reward, or low reward, for finishing off the army, players will complain. If the reward is high, higher level player factions will farm these things and it'll turn into a massive KS-fest that no one under lvl 90 can participate in.

    Hmm... maybe it should be coded so that only high rewards are given when the armies are tackled in groups of diverse levels... like a couple of 20s, couple of 40s, couple of 60s, that sorta thing?

    No rewards. Have the army kill off major npcs like the Crazy Stone ones. That will be more than enough motivation to stop the army. :P

    There you go! Make all the mobs lvl 20, but have massively high stats, like things that would make the FB29 boss pale in comparison, so it's a challenge for the higher lvl players, but they need lower lvl players to get any chance of drops.b:chuckle

    i think some monsters should have a bonus status called Sturdy simlar to the damage immunity

    all it would do is prevent high level players from killing monsters that are 40 levels weaker than them selves by resisting attacks that do more damage than the monsters max hp
