... was just thinking, do your 4 squad mates have to be next to you, in range so to speak, when you open squad mode?

It'd be nice if they didn't, but that'd be almost too easy.

    As you guessed to easy. Some times you can get ppl from ToA to help open if you ask around. But its a pain in the butt sometimes so better if you have nice guildies or other friends who help you open.
