how to be pure dex?

i dont get it.... i want pvp archer witch ppl told me pure dex... but all bows and armors needs str also? how can i be pure dex then if i cant equip anything

    Pure Dex is where you add 1 str, and 4 Dex, every time you lvl up, Its working for me. And Pure Dex is for PvP? That seems pretty good.

    You might want ot check the guides that appears on the top of the list.

    its called pure dex because you add no vitality and well of course no magic, you still need enough str for armors which is 1 str per lvl

    Actually no I was a pure dex. I went 31 STR then went straight Dex after that. I was lvl 50 using lvl 30 armor.

    1s 4d / lvl IS considered pure dex build.

    Pure dex = PURE DEX lol. bare minimum for decent armor, not same level as you STR then rest dex.

    Thats pure dex, otherwise i call it a hybrid :D

    Pure dex means you go nothing but dex, but if you went straight dex with only 5 str well u couldnt use a bow, so u go STR to get a good bow, (lvl 50 supply stash bow for example which needs 29 STR.) then nothing but dex for ever and ever. That's a Pure Dex :D

    and hybrid build is for people that have vit , not ones that have enough str to wear on lvl armor, were not gonna change 5 years of nomenclature for just you

    Well the real definition of the word Pure is basically nothing other than, so if you have any str at all its technically not pure. Pure would be reducing all your other stats to 3 and putting in 100% dex. No str, no mag, no vit.

    That would of course, be an unusable build since you would not be able to equip anything however.

    Literal semantics aside, the convention for a Pure Dexterity build for an Archer is as follows:

    Strength = Your Level + 4
    You do this in order to meet the Strength requirement to wear the best available Light Armor for your level.

    Every single attribute that is not necessary to meet this Strength requirement is put into Dexterity.

    The idea of the Pure Dex build is not to put in only enough Strength to have "decent" armor 20 levels below your character, but to maximize SIMULTANEOUSLY your defensive and offensive capabilties.

    If you're wearing Light Armor 20 levels below your character on purpose, then you are not maximizing your defensive potential.

    Granted, the archer is primarily an offensive class, but the contributions from current level armor far outweighs the flawed perception that pumping offensive attribute points exclusively into your archer will make it "better," at least in regards to PvP.

    PS - Hybrid builds are considered any kind of deviation from the aforementioned point formula, including Vitality builds.

    that was the most **** thing i've ever heard today

    why dont you use a lvl 1 bow until the end and see if you will be killing anything your lvl

    pure dex is where you have bare minimum stat requirements for your gear and the rest is put PUREly into one point, aka dex for archers

    thanks...whoever followed this guys advice is in for pure fail fun

    by pure <stat> its meant that your stats are purely put upon one stat when meeting basic requirements...its a short form like many other things

    Silly argument..
    -'Pure' as used by the archer community means 4-1. If you want to quote a dictionary or start a petition though, by all means have fun.

    -"Purer" (as used by me), meaning higher dexterity and significantly lower strength, is poor with regular gear. It is HYPOTHETICALLY effective with high level rank gear, but that is going to remain hypothetical for most players -- current gameplay does not allow any significant number of players to reach this equipment.

    Actually the way I built myself I was owning everyone. Barbs, BM's Clerics and other archers 30+ levels higher then me :P

    thats because they fail miserably and are wearing sucky equips. find me and let me shoot u 2-3 times, chances are u will be dead assuming those shots hit even without crit and u are using a hp charm

    warning though, with pure or purer dex, your hp will be very low. I wouldn't recommend this build for PvP unless u buy cash shop, & uber equipment outfitted with the very best stats/gems, etc..
