Strange Glitches (pictures included)

Ok i have been a major watcher of strange happenings in the games for quite some time now. Normally I would stay quiet about some of the glitches I see, mainly the graphical glitches. This is a small album of the major glitch I seen. I haven't seen anything like them in any game I played before. The last one I seen was about a month ago. Has anyone else stumbled upon anything like this before?

The "blue eye" glitch as I like to call it(only the ring of blue is visible on screen if you use the Alt+H application) occurred about a month after the "Chaotic World" glitch, again not an official name just what I call it, which occurred on the 7th of April. Normally I wouldn't say anything about this, but no one else seemed to have seen these glitches happen when I originally seen them and this is a cause of concern for me.

    Thats rather neat.. First guess Is GPU related but I really don't think that would be it. mabye its just a special Mode for people wanting something different b:pleased Good luck with getting a resolution.

    Congratulations you graphic card is dying. probably a faulty memory or GPU running to hot.

    I haven't seenanything like it in nearly a month. The last time i seen it was a golden face with no eyes popping up on my screen. I don't have a pic of it unfortunatly but the game ran as it normally did despite what was happening with the graphics.

    I've seen screenshots of similar things, though I don't know what threads they were on. Last week someone posted one where their inventory squares were stretched across the sky. I think. The pic was so high res that it was taking ages to load on a fast connection o0;

    In all likelihood, though, it seems you found a gateway into Net Slum of The World. Where those deleted bits of Tsukasa were kept... The Wave is coming!

    sadly enough. That's exactly what I thought when I first seen these. Who knows? Watch I run into Macha or Aura one day.

    After doing a bit of revamping on my graphics card since I was using an outdated one off my motherboard and even got a new power supply for my computer the "Chaotic World" glitch happened again. This time in Thousand Tears. I taken the opportunity to take a lot of pictures this time (now starting to develop a hobby of taking pictures of glitches in the game, and even looking for more).

    My video card is less then 3 months old and is neither overheating nor do i have a trace of Viruses or Spyware on my computer that would cause this. I did a bit of research on it and it seems that I'm not the only person to have seena glitch like this. There's a video on youtube about it. It stayed around for a while and the game ran just as it should minus the messed up graphics. After alt-tabbing the glitch went away

    As you can see everything besides the NPCs, mounts, buildings, and (minus my own) genies were not effected by this. I have not stepped away from the town to see if monsters were effected or not. a key thing i noticed that characters were effected that they either had yellow eyes or their faces looked decayed.     The sad thing was I was traveling in these areas actually hoping to run into this glitch again. Hearing the rumor that it hit someone in Archosaur about a month before it hit me in Tusk Town. It seems to be traveling a very set path as a wave of sorts. It's only a theory though.

    Weirder thing is yesterday I had a strange image of my Zeal genie being black like that.

    P.S. Sorry to necro this thread but I'm curious as to if anyone else other then me and the person who got hit in Archosaur saw this before.

    Have you tried verifying the files from the Launcher?

    My first thought was that somehow you Hex-Error'ed everything. Looks like a few things I made for FFXI but goofed on the Hex a little. Run a file check, some how your files might have been glitched. Since it's not reoccurring just by visiting the area it might be the data for a piece of armor, specific hairstyle that isn't used much, something like that that someone in the area was using, but your file is a tad messed up.

    To OP and GMs

    I do have the same kinda errors for 2- 3 hrs each time I reboot the 'puter . (Just select/ unselect V-Sync in the game /system panel to correct the glitch)

    Its done the same thing for the last 3 GC i used ;) all are new ;) and all are NVIDIAs

    No error in any Event log, and no overeating, nor crappy memory.

    Once the 'puter has run for some time , the problem disapears.
    I look at all the trollers, and Pvpers.. and know they wouldnt have lasted 30sec on Camelot.

    Rules= Know your enemy (players and NPCs) gives you more chances to survive.

    On a joking matter (as if this is one). Is it possible to get a Zeal to look like that? I also liked the color of my wings. Any way to make them look like that in normal game play? b:chuckle

    for me it does seem to come and go. there is nothing preformance wise that gets hit, normally a quick half second pause, then the graphic glitch. I have been able to slow it on some bad days by underclocking the GPU and unlinking the shader link on the GPU.
    my GTX 275 will do this
    my 9800GX2 will also
    but my 8800gts 640mb will not

    I Have bench tested all the cards, as well as the computer itself. You would think that if it was anything but the GPU, that it would show up when using the 8800gts. The GPU's are never overheating or even getting past 40c.

    u sure didnt played with textures to change colour of u`r wings or genie b:question cuz in last screen it seems all colours were reseted ..

    that screen shot was taken before genies where even out. it has been an on going problem for some time. ( that one was probably around feb of 2009 )

    I can tab out and back in and it will fix it for a short time, changing screen rez seems to help as well as playing only in window mode some times at a smaller rez. ( does not seem to like 1600x1200, but had the issue back with 1440x900 on my old widescreen )

    I will also say this is not the "only" game this happens with. I have seen the same in shaiya, and altho not as often every once in a great while in vanguard. Only thing I have been wondering is if it has anything to do with new rendering that some of the GPU's out now are capable of, and if there is a way to default it to a setting that will fix it.

    okay after a lot of searching, I have found what seems to be the cause of this, and I will be testing again later tonight.

    it would seem that the higher end Nvidia GPU's (9 series and higher) have the ability to downclock themselves when the system does not think it needs the full 3D. I found a override fix thru Rivatuner that will keep the GPU running at full and not downthrottling to a lower setting. Will post results.

    I have had a glitch where the screen goes all blocky...It is somewhat hard to describe but it is like I am looking at the world as if made up of a thousand little TV screens that are showing a blown up image. If I adjust settings or tab and then restore it goes away but it happens for no apparent reason and only once in awhile on rare occasions.

    On a side note, the Chaotic world thing looks kind of awesome...I almost WANT to see it now.

    yep same issue. If this is a fix for that, then I will post a link and step by step how to get rid of it. Note this is ONLY on Nvidia cards, and more the high end cards they have out that downthrottle.

    Yes removed all glitches from the down throttling 100%. No messed up screen as of yet and left it running for over 14 hours.

    Give it a try if you are having the same issue. But use only on Nvidia ofcourse.
