Stupid noob questions

Hi I've been playing the game for a while and can't figure out how to do 2 things:

1) How do I fuse gemstones to my weapons and armor?

2) laugh at me for this one ^.^ but how do I reply to someone who whispers me?

    1) The "imbue" dialouge option at any blacksmith, tailor, etc

    2) you can click their name in the chat box, or type "/guywhoistalkingtome'sname". That is a slash, followed by their name, followed by a space, followed by your message. spelling and capitalization count.
