Hi there,

Crimson Horn: Soulsmasher : http://www.pwdatabase.com/pwi/items/14894

vs

Returning Squall : http://www.pwdatabase.com/pwi/items/14880

Which one would you choose if you were lucky enough to get the two required golden spirits to make one of these weps? State reason please.

Im liking the xbow for the +2% crit.

BTW whats the typical price of golden spirit ingame?

soulsmasher pwns great on bosses and just normal pve too

golden spirits were 5-6mil each recently, now with influx of mysterious chips bit less i guess 45 chip+2mil to make each..so maybe 4mil for one even, or of course insane luck in TT

gloom is about 20-25% attack increase (the equivalent of spark eruption, NOT advanced one), the % for it activating i can't conclude, i have had it chain for over 30 seconds before though (each time activates i think its about 5 sec?)usually activates 2+times a minute of attack, gonna try to figure more detail out another time/day

Insane luck aka 2 from same boss like my group. Made the bow, it's way better if you don't mind 200 less hp, but really 200 hp isn't such a big deal. Gloom is better than critical, especially since you can gloom and crit and gloom and crit and spark at the same time, but can't crit crit because you have 2% more crit (aka can't crit a crit or something crazy like zerk crit). You also get gloom for 5+ seconds, so you can crit twice during gloom, which will pwn your oponent since it's 25% more dmg.

Overall it's better dps and better at pvp simple because you can gloom crit. 200 less hp though. Very worth it imo.

Remember, it's bound as soon as you wear it, and yes it's 1.2% drop rate from HH gold armor boss in 1-3 (hh 80), and will cost you 3-4mil.

In LC, there are only 2 ppl with those bows, 1 gets 1 shot, and the other used to get 1 shot...not anymore.

Thanks for all the replies guys.

Torinchibi: I laughed when i read your post. Pretty confusing at first I must say ["but can't crit crit because you have 2% more crit (aka can't crit a crit or something crazy like zerk crit)"]. Zerk crit lmao here!! I get what you mean though.

After talking with some people and of course reading your posts I'm definitely liking the soulsmasher more. Too bad the chance of drop is so low in TT1-3. Guess I'm going to start and save some coin from now on to buy the spirits and hope that one might drop for me when running 1-3.

from my experience with gloom, the duration seems around 7-10 secs.

im pretty sure it doesn't go beyond 10 seconds.

as for the chances of it triggering? i'd say less than 15%, maybe even lower than 10%(from what i've seen so far).

the only thing i really hate about it is when it triggers 3-5 times in a row(yes it happens, just like our misses), i end up wasting a little more mp.

I chose the returning squall and I don't regret it. Soulsmasher is a great weapon but the xbow is not bad as well. I don't like bows that's why I chose the squall, cause as we all know archers rely on crits. :) And I love my almost 4.5k hp with pure build.
IMO - the squall is better against bms and barbs (the few barbs I've killed with the squall), but I have to admit that overall the bow is better. However the returning squall is NOT a bad weapon. It's a case of personal choice. The only time I felt bad about buying it is when I fight archers, but there is a cure to that, too. I just get close to the other archer and start metal attack him/her - they always get pissed off :P. Of course I can always keep them cursed with blinding sand and then it's only a matter of luck who wins.
My people, some of them have run away to the hills
and have no shelter. No food, no one knows where they are,
hear me my chiefs, I am tired. My heart is sick and sad,
    I will fight no more....
