when i think about it, everyone is always holding their weapon in game.
Wouldnt it be cool to have in on your back or something?

I guess you could just unequip it >.>

    Cabal Online has this, when you walk into town, your sword/bow/whatever is automatically transferred onto your back.

    (Im not saying Cabal Online is better than PWI, nor am i saying you should play it. Honestly, I hated the game.)

    I support the idea of weapons being transfered to our backs when in sz.

    In ether saga the wep its transfer to your back too, same developers, so its more than posible.

    You can actually do that yourself ingame.I found it by playing an archer that in melee was switching to claws/fists.Just drag the weapons in a slot(f1 or 1 for example),if you have the weapon equiped and you press that key it will unequip the weapon,if you press it again it will instantly equip it.So you kinda have it already.

    I played that game too before coming to PWI and I did like that feature about them. Yeah, not saying people should play it. PWI kicks the **** out of Cabal visually and systematically.

    I've played a few games with this feature, and I'd like to have weapons go into some form of a stored possition, it's not even hard to logically think of where they would all go:

    Swords / Blades / Magic Swords / Patakas: At your hip, where a sword naturally goes
    Dual Axe / Dual Hammer / Dual Sword / Dual Blade: One at each hip
    Poleblades / Spears / Magic Staff: On your back, with the blade / head facing up over your shoulder.
    Pole Hammers: On your back with the head facing down (it's heavy!)
    Claws: Holstered either 1 on each hip or both on your lower back
    Fists: Simply disappear since fists are nothing but a glowy orb on your hand
    Bows: Across your back, either flat or as if the string were slung around your torso
    Crossbows: On your upper shoulder or hip (Not too sure of the size, so Someone confirm this?)
    Slingshots: On your hip or back of the belt similar to the claws.

    I think this would be cool too. Its kind of weird standing around town with a menacing weapon.

    We need a petition. We would have to send it to the Chinese though because the devs here don't have a license to change the game. =[

    Please, the OP should be shot in TW for doing this ridiculous idea to waste both the effort of smart programmers and artists and for making me die in TW for having my FPS drop to like 2 when we have over 100 people all having the animation to "draw weapon" + "cast" + "already laggy time"..

    Yeah, people always suggest this on the Runescape forums too and it's like ... didn't you buy that uber expensive weapon primarily for its showoff value? How are you going to show it off if its stowed away on your back or in a sheath? If you think you don't look right walking around town wielding a weapon, just unequip it.

    Zephyr even if I don't care if they put this ingame there wouldn't be a thing that would slow the game.Genies in TW can slow it like hell,not this animation since won't be different from having the weapons in hands.Anyway you can like it or not(or just don't care like me or want devs better do something else than this),but that it would create lag or similar problems i find it...uhmm...strange.

    Well yea, fine it probably won't affect it by that much.

    But there is probably a bigger problem linking the attack timer to the actual animation...

    Before you just have to have animation motion of attacking..

    Now you have to Pull out weapon.... attack... animation. Basically all the orignial animation have now have to be faster and or by the time you draw your weapon a little lazer shoots out your eyes or your chest. Basically I'm saying it's too much work.

    The way Blizzard got it to work was probably due to so mass trial and error that ripped out most of the programmer's hair due to insanity.

    Trust me, play a Hunter in WoW.. See how sometimes it still doesn't work properly? I mean... like sometimes you even have to cancel the animation of pulling out a thing due to trinket effects... etc.. stunned.. What about that huh?

    More problems... way too much problems... Unless you wanna volunteer to slave away years of your life doing this as a programmer.. Don't suggest stuff like this unless no one in the world has anything to do.

    zephyr, is me who understood it wrong?
    but, i think he said get weps in the back in cities not everywere, so could be only safe zones and that wouldnt give more or less lag cus you will have it normal way all the times except when in safe zone

    As i said i agree it's not both a must or something they should think about now with all the big bugs/glitches around.
    As for the idea in itself could be something like when you embrace someone that you can't talk with a npc.Same thing,you can't talk to an npc with weapons drawn.

    The problem is timing between weapon animation and actually pulling out your weapon. I assume each class's code is linked when pulling out a weapon.

    So the big problem is before the pulling out the weapon, the character must channel and cast.

    Now the character must channel and cast in the SAME AMOUNT of time as before.

    So the animation of us channeling and casting has to be FASTER to match it or it will make it like we shoot stuff out of our chests (or that part where the sun doesn't shine).

    That is the big problem is with animation timing.

    P.S. Well, I guess the lag isn't so bad <.<.. Meh... More animation = slightly less lag. It might build up if a ton of users are close together. Like before a boss start, pull out weapon = lag... QQ... fail boss.

    You talking like the game is on a thick ice...one more animation and everything falls apart.I find it strange you put this as a con for it instead of pretty much the rest;like devs concentrating on repairing glitches,exploits etc.As for the cast,channeling thing:as i've noticed even now if you don't have a weapon equiped you can't use a skill,so it would be the same there too,you wield the weapon and you get the animation you have now,then you can cast/fight/whatever.I really fail to see your point.

    besides, i dont want anyone to know which weapon I carry (I have several with me at all times)
