Are Archers actually THAT good at pvp?

I always thought Archers were uber strong at pvp and didnt need very much work to kill other classes, but after reading some posts it seems they need to do more work than i previously presumed. For example, the last time I pvped an archer and lost was because I had no charm on (yeh i know thats stupid :P) and no high damage skills (perdition) so i couldnt kill him before the 10 second gap. So, are archers actually THAT good at pvp? or do you need to work on it like every other class?

    on people with low hp they pwn them instantly, if you go up against people with good hp it does get harder and takes some work, so many people going LA also makes the job harder

    archer is THAT good at PvP only because of the frequent spike dmg we get. high dmg+ high crit = quick kill.
    archers are usually based around a simple concept. kill them before they kill u.
    i was once called a glass cannon just because we hit hard and if we hit the center(critcal) things die, but if we get hit, like glass we will break.

    since i never played on a PvP server yet, i can only assume. from what i seen about archer i would say they are 1 of the best random pkers on those server. we got the longest range to give us the element of surprise, we have the high dmg and high spike dmg providing a high chance that squishy die before they even realize they are getting hit.

    I disagree with anyone that say Archers are glass cannons. I can take a beating before I go down, unlike Mage (the REAL glass cannon).

    i am current at 4282hp as a pure dex archer pretty sure thats higher than most people. glass cannon as in high lvl bosses can still 1 shot u, hence glass, cannon since we do dmg, saying archer is a glass cannon doesnt mean other classes are not equally as squishy or squishier aka. glass w/e.

    i seen wiz that matches my hp but has higher def in phys and mgk(LA wiz) pretty sure that dmg is quite high also considering its a sakya with +4 or +5 last i seen it. so wiz can take just as much punishment as archers if not more depending on build

    I'd like to see what you say when a pair of Calamity axes go beserk with a critical on you.

    But yes, we are glass cannons.


    Fighting magic classes without the element of surprise will show you that real quickly.


    Even the super-class cannon pure-MAG cleric will show you how much of a glass cannon you are if they can get 2 or 3 hits in on you.

    yes even with LA theyre still fish in a barrel for a scorpion or phoenix :P.

    throw a lucky (2s stun)->genie amp->ironwood-> dead

    other than that if they get lucky crits and/or ambush you they hurt pretty badly

    technically guys archers are glass gattling guns lol
