Auto Attack nearest mob with same pattern of attacks over and over again it's so obvious

You attack them, they keep attacking mobs

You call them names... they do nothing and let you slander them

You drop 1 million coins, they don't even pick it up. Or if they are programmed to pick up coins, drop 1 coin x 1,000,000. They will pick it all up.

Last but not least. Macros make your character have the IQ of a 3 year old who can't even talk, act, think, or is anything like a real human being.

Anyhow /GM please. I dislike sissy noobs who can't even bother to have no-life leveling their own characters up.

P.S. Remember, the harder you swing the ban-hammer, the better tasting candy you will get out of that botter when you help nice GMs smash their pinata behinds.

I often attack the mob closest to me, simply because it is closest. Doesn't make me a botter.

I do this also seeing as if I'm attacked, chances are I can't win, so why not get the mob killed if I'm sure it won't kill me before you?

Self explanatory. Just because someone says stuff about you doesn't mean you have to talk back and keep it going.

Coins=money. Of course I'll pick it up.

Usually barb or bm bots will be using normal attacks. You can attack them, pm spam them, they won't do anything except keep attacking mobs. You can kill them and they will lie dead for hours.

Most are in secluded areas...Sea of Reality is a popular spot.

Notice that I say same pattern of attacks. Like they will always do like a pattern over and over again. Like Skill#1 + Skill#2 + Skill#3, then repeat. It becomes noticeable after a while. A real player will change their attack style at least once in 30 mins due to Increase HP/Increase Def/Increase M-def mobs.

You would at least run b:chuckle, Botters don't run. Btw... you don't have to actually kill that botter. Just lower their HP. Let it regen, keep attacking them but not killing them. You will see that they don't run. Yup... I'm totally convinced they really have iron balls and don't mind getting killed. Plus they don't talk.. and never pick up drops or even do anything different

Oh I guess so, but it most often if you insult someone, they will talk back. Of course, its not conculsive evidence, but combined with things in Red or Green. I think you have a good clue

Yea, would you pick up 1 coin repeatly dropped by a random person for 9999 times in a row in a pattern? I think after the 3rd coin you would realize not to pick it up. Of course, botters don't b:chuckle

Not that I agree with botting, but banning your own guild mates? That's pretty low.

    >.> i use the exact same skill pattern for every mob i kill as a barb, mighty swing>penatrate>normal atack till it dies

i never fight back when i get pked, i would rather make sure that the mob dies before i do so that there is no chance of xp loss (seeing as people only try to kill barbs if there are 5+ mobs on them)

why talk to idiots who just want to insult you, i suggest saying hi, or asking where a mob is. if someone is rude to me right off the bat i'm going to ignore you until a gm shows up and then ill just tell them that you were being a fool and so i ignored you

money is money, i have 26m in my bank and ill still pick up every coin i pass in the lowbie citys. penny-pinching is how i got my money and i like it to stay that way

Not my business, but she was right. Even though one person shouldn't represent your entire guild, they're still a part of it. If she didn't catch him, someone else would and it'd really look bad. Plus being in the same guild shouldn't mean that person is exempt from the rules.

Back on topic. The best way would be to ask if they're present. Though as a GM mentioned that sometimes you know, people will grind while watching television or not pay full attention to their surroundings. If it's a veno botting you can tell a little easier, if they aren't using charms. They pot and/or heal their pet unnecessarily. If they die near one of those areas like Broken Bridge Village, where there are npc animals are, you'll see them continuously kill them while potting. Again, it doesn't hurt to ask if they're present as some new players may also do that.

There's also ad botters. Not the ones advertising gold sites as often, but those advertising their shop. Ever step into Arch West at varying times and always see the same person shouting at a (perfect) minute interval?

I had like 3 ppl tell me about it. Then I went out to see for myself.

But he's the reason our guild has botting rumors going around now. ;o

One person botting in a guild can easily ruin the reputation of the guild.

As for the insulting and etc. It's always better to say different things like "hello, are you there?" or in various ways, because botting programs can have conversations with people if set up the right way.

this is how we got rid of bots on my former MMO, it was a major problem there even as p2p, as it had credit card fraud out the wazoo.

so as players we banded together to torture bots.

we'd A do this, or B, use an item that would summon a monster and crack off about a couple hundred and run for the hills while theyd roam free on the botter maps, **** every one of em' effectively ruining a botters hope of gaining anything.

I will use the same attack pattern over and over because Venomancer is good in either case with Crystalline.

Again, I don't run because if they are attacking you, chances are they want to PK you so might as well let them I say. Also, again Magmite is taking damage from the mob for me, so no need to worry about exp loss.

Again, I also will not talk to someone if I really don't feel in the mood for talking, regardless of what they say to me. If I am in a good mood and they are insulting me, I'll agree with them about everything so they can just move along, but I don't normally argue. So, even when combine with others, can't be certain still.

Yes, I would keep picking it up because its money, and if you think about all the drops and money people just leave laying around cause they feel they are so rich they don't need it, it adds up to be quite a lot. Just going from 1 to 20 as a Veno (experimenting helps keep me interested) I tried just picking up money and putting it straight into bank before selling off stuff, then would record the amount I got from stuff and then subtracted that from the next total and so on till 20, found out that I would have missed out on somewhere around 50k from money drops alone. Think about once you get in your 40's when it gets an average of about 300 per mob, you start missing out on a lot of money, so now I always pick up money, even if its not mine.

Oh that's kinda boring <.<... But if you do, then I just only have a suspect. Of course, it's still quite odd your doing it if your anything but a Veno. But if what is what you do normally, then I can't argue with that. Do what you please for PvE.

Oh.... ok, I guess you can stay and get Pked if you really don't mind walking back to the monsters.

Ok... GM Whispers to you: Answer me or I will Ban you for using illegal botting programs. I think you will answer to that b:victory.

Umm... in the time it takes you to pick up 300 coins worth of 1 coin x 300. You could have killed at least 20 mobs, picked up mob loot and end up with more than 300 coin + EXP + Spirit even if you were a level 10. But yea, you would agree with me that constantly picking 1 coin dropped by a player for 10 times in a row is kinda weird?

I'm just going to point out that if you're going to determine if someone is botting by being rude, insulting them etc there is a chance you will be reported because if it isn't a bot, they can report you for verbal harassment and other violations of the ToS, and if it is a bot, they can still report you for harassment and violating the ToS if they happen to be at the computer at the time.

Remember, getting reported is only a screenshot and a ticket away if you choose to act like an **** simply because you believe you have a right to do so because of what you think they are doing.

If you believe they are botting, take screenshots, make a detailed account of what they are doing, and report them, but do yourself a huge favor and don't lower yourself to their level by saying anything to them that is rude, insulting, slanderous or could be considered harassment. If they are white named, by all means, PK them if you want, just watch what you say.

I remember back in silkroad when the bots were extremely out of control (are they still?), there was a really simple way to **** over the bot..
And it was fun to do if you had lots of time of your hands and just wanna see a kick out of messin with a bot..

Its like droppin snacks and baiting someone...
Drop 1 coin at a time near them in a trail so that their "autopick key" keeps following you, until you lead em back to town.
Some bots that don't know what to do in town end up just sitting there the whole time and not doing anything afterwards :p

One thing that does NOT make sense to me are the people that say "Oh yeah, if I get attacked by someone-WELL I MIGHT AS WELL FINISH THIS MOB OFF BEFORE I DIE!"....um hello? You are risking getting killed by a mob (it gets last hit instead of PKer) and bye bye XP (not as bad if u get rez'd by a helpful cleric). So, I always run if I get attacked while grinding so I don't have any chance of getting hit by the mob and losing my XP.

Well... if you act like a botter, talk (or not talk) like a botter, walk like a botter, and breath like a botter...

What do you think I will conclude you to be?

I can't be psychic and know your every thoughts can I? But at least I can report you and have the GM sort it out. I hope there is someway maybe the GMs could give you a big notice or something if you have your chat closed. But PW is a social game and it does require you to be able to show that your not a robot.

Oh... well... the only thing that matters is the GM talking to you after you received my compliant if I find you to be botting.

If you can act like a normal player in front of the GM, then I'm totally convinced that you don't bot, period.

Of course, I won't merely report people or try to report for just grinding alone and not talking. There are more factors to consider because it's best not to waste someone else's time (GM's time in this case).

Lol come on. The bots they are using are far from that complex. Actually, I've never seen any game bot with a feature like you described...not even in botroad online. It's just not practical because if anything, it will be easier to tell whos botting.

And this is how we dealt with bots in botroad. I played this game for a long while until I couldn't even LOGIN to the servers anymore without paying $20 a month. The bots just took over.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFnH31o6Pys

In this vid someone is using their high lvl theif spawns to kill lower lvl bots. Notice how they continously pour out of town non-stop. You can pick out the real players because they stand on the side to watch...it's only a handful.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qT1hjDtVeHw&feature=related

    Sick vid aswell.
