Having difficulty choosing caster class.

I've been trying to level a Wizard and a Cleric, they are both about 20. Anyway, im not sure who to choose, I like them both, but Wizards just have almost too many skills to learn and use, its a little overwhelming for me at the moment. I like Clerics, but more often then not, when im partying with another person, im almost always out of mana, just by doing a few buffs and heals, plus the Plume Shot(s).
(I really like the sword mount at lvl 30, but the eagle wings arent really...my cup a' tea.) I am hoping that I can do some TW alot at higher lvls...who is of more use?
Ive only done Pure Int builds on any and all my casters, should I try something different? They have always been fine so far. As for cleric skills, can i just skip leveling cyclone? i dont really use it, only to slow something down, but im an Apothecary and the HP regen pills make make it so i dont need to kite.
Ive heard from some posts that a Wizards hardest leveling spot is about 20-30, which is where im at, but i dont find it that hard. Is this probably the most true? What levels are a Clerics hardest levels?
Im going to be in a party with either a cleric, wizard, or veno probably all the time, is having one of those in a party good enough for a cleric or wizard?
I also dont really see much of a difference in the attack power of my mage to my cleric, but that isnt really a huge thing with me.
Thanks everyone.

Wizards can be hard, especially as your first class. They have low hp but they have one of the best damage outputs. Clerics are always handy and for a first character they're probably going to be easier on you than a Wizard.
Check in the class-specific sections of the forum to read up on some guides of each class, they may help your choice a little easier to make.

I always hear of archers doing better damage...even at endgame, when wizards are supposed to be able to nuke the **** outta things...idk...
Ive checked the guides, but the cleric section doesnt really have any guides...ive checked the full attack cleric guide, but that doesnt really seem to be "me." And the other stickied guide i didnt find very informative.
Thanks for your quick reply, Soho.I....really have absolutely no idea what im doing. Just givin' you the heads up.

Hmm, that's a shame. I'm not really sure of any other sites that have guides on classes. Maybe make a post in those sections asking if anyone knows any really good guides for you?
Sorry I couldn't help more.

Just from personal experience - others may disagree - a veno squadding with a cleric just breezes through quests and grinds. A veno who knows what they are doing won't need a cleric to keep them alive, which leaves the cleric to attack mobs as well.
Same for the wizard/veno combo: stuff is dead long before it even comes close enough to breathe on you. Cleric/Cleric works very well, too.
Generally though, you should play the class that will allow you to grind solo as well. Don't make yourself rely on others too much. Wizard and Cleric both work for that, the Cleric just has the added bonus of being able to heal themselves or take the vertical exit route into the sky if things get hairy. Up until level 30, wizards don't have that option.
Also, actually spending a lot of time in squads, even if it's just you and one other player - yeah, it does speed up quests like whoa, but it also cuts into XP gain. I find that I level a lot slower when I squad a lot. If you don't care about levelling fast, then just choose the class that is the most fun for you.0 -
Thanks again Soho and Annondae. I've played a little more on my Wizard, getting to 24 (woot) and getting my semi-decent healing spell (kinda-woot). I think I like Wizard more than my Cleric, the only thing im going to miss is the buffs and being able to revive people b:sad. Ive been reading through the forums alot and I'm starting to think that i might like Venomancer. I dont really want to be a female (no offense, or anything) just because other people ingame usually automatically assume you're that gender in RL. My friend is a veno and he gets friend invites like crazy, but just from random people... idk, i guess i can always try Veno if i get stuck/bored on my Wizard.
As i said before, I really like the sword mount, so that kinda pushed me towards Wizard.
I think ive heard some things (mostly bad) about territory wars with Veno, Cleric, and Wizard.
Well, I saw a video where the Clerics just sit at like a respawn point and then heal/buff people when someone dies. If thats all i do during TWs, i dont really want that class...
::NOTE:: I have NEVER done a TW before, I have only seen and heard what people say in game, on the forums, and on Youtube (etc.)
Wizards sound like they are just "get in and blow the **** outta people until they kill you" And it shouldn't take long for that with Low HP and I think the whole summoning a dragon would draw a few people's attention.
Veno, i didnt really see anything. The vid i saw was a veno with a Phoenix and she/he (there it is, auto-assuming) just sent the phoenix to attack someone while she flew and got attacked by like 3 other flying people....so yeah, not the greatest video...but ive heard that veno's arent really good (as most) for TWs...
Thanks again, sorry if ive offended anyone in this, or any other thread/post.I....really have absolutely no idea what im doing. Just givin' you the heads up.

I know you probably already made your decision on what class you wanted to continue leveling but I just wanted to put my input in I hope it helps.
The wizard is very useful and has some good skills but the it's very hard to keep up with spirit and being able to train all of them. A wizard is a pure dps (damage per second) class (if you don't know what damage per second means it means in large partied quests all your going to do is damage).
The cleric is my cup of tea and reason being is they are in high demand. Anyone can use a healer especially for group quests and the cleric brings this to the table. The problem with that is that it makes soloing harder and leveling becomes a pain in the a**.
I think what you really need to ask yourself is do you want to do a ton of damage or do you want to be a healer. Wizard for damage and cleric for heals. I also wanted to say I haven't had a problem with mana so far with my cleric. It does get challenging distributing attribute points as you level though.
P.S. I'm talking end game, not lvl 20-30.0 -
Also gotta take into mind how well are you able to look around while you play any class? If you go cleric, you gotta be prepared to watch every single persons HP and stat in your squad (if squaded, including the HP of that cleric next to you if thers 2), be watchful of what is attacking who at what time so you can put in your sleep spells, keep watch of the radar so you know where to stand, and keep watch of the chat in case you heal when your not suppose to. There will be more than just a few times the melee will not be looking at YOUR HP at all (even if your getting hit) so you will be having to play Nanny of the squad 24/7.
Solo wise both are squishy and both need to keep watch on themselves, maybe more so a wizzy because of the lack of heals. On the other hand if your in a squad, wizzy will be easier since its not a job where you have to keep your eye on the monitor every sec. You just need to be able to measure the hate lvl you gain from the mob, less it starts to ping-pong between you and the tank.
