Which Lv.70 Axes?

Which level 70 axes should I buy: Calamity Axes of Blood, Thunderbolt Axes, or Heraldry Axes?

I'm starting to get pretty close to level 70, so I've started planning on what Equipment/Weapons I am going to use. So my question is: Which level 70 axes should I buy: Calamity Axes of Blood, Thunderbolt Axes, or Heraldry Axes. I'm planning to continue tanking, and maybe do some PvP at later levels.

I would also like to know if the Beserker feature (Chance to inflict double the damage at the cost of 5% HP) on the Calamity Axes makes it harder to tank Bosses, etc.

So, I decided to go with Calamities ^^. I might even get some Heraldry's at later level's to use as my tanking axes. Thanks again everyone! :D

    The XS (calamity axes) are strictly for pvp. Its a huge waste of your hp/heiro to grind with a XS. Get it if you plan on pvping. For tanking the heraldry axes are better for a tank b/c of the added vit. You should also look at the paths of the hh axes and decide what path you want

    Yes the calamity axes burn off 5% HP each time they berserk, and they berserk quite often, but thats when you do twice they damage. Calamity's add 372HP to your HP pool, and if you grind in tigerform, they are pretty invaluable. I usually just use normal attacks now until I have 2 sparks and then a sunder.

    I've got enough HP, and killing things quickly also saves some repair bills. Just don't aggro more than two and you wont burn your charm.

    Imho, calamity's are the best 70 axes, but they are pretty expensive to get.

    Thunderbolts are good for damage, and are pretty cheap to make.

    Helraldys, imho, aren't that great (decrease mag def? b:chuckle), but they are the required for some of the better axes later.

    As someone else mentioned before, the HP bonus is nice. It actually adds a total of roughly 595 HP with buffs in tiger form due to the duo 30% increases.

    I also heard berserking helps you keep aggro better?

    The decrease magic defense could help mages and possibly cleric DD's kill faster when tanking a boss.

    Every barb wants Calamity. They are sick for both PvP+Tanking, enough said. They're also crazy expensive.

    Every tank wants Heraldry. The VIT bonus is obvious and the mdef debuff is incredible combined with your Devour skill. Your TT party will thank you for the time saved killing those huge HP bosses. The problem with Heraldry is the materials you need to manufacture them (Forshura Armor) are really hard to get, and expensive to buy out of auction.

    Now with all that being said Thunderbolt's are the axe almost every barb will end up with, at least to begin with. They're very easy to obtain either via farming the TT mats or to buy out of auction and they represent a happy medium between Calamity and Heraldry. But really, they're strictly worse than both.

    One other small thing to consider that has been previously mentioned is the path you want to take with your TT axes, as you will need to decompose the souledge from either Thunderbolt or Heraldry to make your TT80 axe. IMO, both axes (Giant Ape Axe and Lion King Axe) are very good and have great benefits, there isn't really the glaring quality difference you see between the TT70 axes. Personally I'm leaning towards Giant Ape Axes because of the massive VIT boost (which as we all know Barbs get the best HP+ modifier from) but its personal preference.

    I have all 3 axes just for different situtations that I come across. Now i know i haven't gotten to that lvl yet but i like to be prepared hell i have my TT70 gear already. Sorry got sidetrackedb:laugh. Anyone to me its the situation, that decides what axe i am going to use to me of the 3 i think Heraldry is the best all around toss in accuracy shards and your gold. Any ideas?

    I have the Heraldry and the Calamity..Both plus 5...but yeah for PvP its all about the Calamity's..2 immac Accuracy shards....so basically lvl 8 Arma with the calamitys = 1 shot LOTS OF SQUISHIES LOL...VERY NICE....ask Helenia all about it lol
