Transition from WoW to PWI

I played WoW primarily as a Healer, mostly a Resto Shaman but sometimes a Disc/Holy Priest and rarely a Shadow Priest. I plan on playing a cleric when the last bit of the game is downloaded. How easy will the transition be? How easy will the transition be as a Cleric?

I was also wondering how close to the Hunter class in WoW is a the Venomancer?

How much, or how little of my knowledge from WoW should I hold on to to adequately adjust to this game?

Where can I find the most populated East Coast(US) servers? Similar to WoW in which it gives you them in order, or their site which tells you >.<

What are some good FanSite links to get more indepth information on the game. So far I have been using...

...and watching Youtubes while I wait.

    Ok,
I only have basic knowledge of Wow but I will do my best.

As far as servers, East coast servers are Harshlands and Dreamweaver. Harshlands being the PvP server and Dreamweaver being the PvE. Similar to Wow, The PvP server is just that, PvP(after level 30) And the PvE is PvE, unless you toggle yourself into PvP mode, then you are able to PvP with others who also are in PvP mode.

As far as Comparing the Hunter to Veno. They both have battle pets, Venos being the only class in PWI, But, really, after that I am not sure about any other similarities. A veno is really a caster class, along the lines of a mage. Where if I remember correctly hunters are just that, more of a ranged Pdamage class.

One thing that is different for sure is the ability to allocate your attribute points in PWI, you get 5 per level to split up between Vitality, Strength, Dex, and Magic.

You need a certain amount of points in certain areas to, carry a magical weapon, or wear heavy or light armor(just examples) That is a difference from wow.
Another difference is once you choose skills, there is no restating those skills, if you are planning on being a cleric, and your initial goal is to be a healing cleric, you cant go back and change your skillset to become a attack cleric.

I dont know if any of this helps...I prolly dont know WoW well enough to give you a stronger compairison

    And as far as sites:

Dude, you left a Pay to play game for a Free to play game....

My advice, play WoW, it's better than PWI unless you can 1337 hax like me in PWI.

Or that you don't want to regularly spend 15 bucks a month. Or that you have a life because WoW basically sucks out your soul in raids.

Don't have the time and my situation has changed some.

I started yesterday got to level 13(or 14 i forget) before I logged off. I saw people spamming for zb19/59 and zhen. From another thread I gathered they are high end dungeons, are there any lower level dungeons, if so where? I will check those fan sites again for info.

Cleric beginning is a lot easier than priest beginning :P Cyclone > Plume > Plume > Collect Rarz. When, or rather around what level will I begin to be able to play the role of a healer?

You get to play the role of a healer at lvl 19. That is when you get the revive skill (am not sure what it is called since I play nothing but archer!)

Clerics start with a heal spell. This will not be their best healing spell, but low level characters are all tanks when fighting low level monsters, so you should be find healing from when you start.

Thanks for the correction, yes you do start with a skill to heal players and yourself, however I've recently read a post saying you don't get to revive people until the lvl19 cultivation quest. b:embarrass

Your roll as a healer is immediate, you start with blessing of the purehearted. You will find this skills is poor when you start leveling, but it is a heal. Ironheart blessing is going to be a very strong heal for you for a very long time. you will want to keep it leveled. Revive is pretty much a must, I believe it is a level 19 skill. Soon the light, a level 39 heal is a AOE heal, its not as efficient as healing with ironheart, and if used at the wrong time, can pull aggro, but it is a must.

Your buffs are also very important for a healer(vanguard spirit, magic shell, celestial spirit seal, and spirits gift)
And then your debuff skill(purify) removes all negative buffs to your targeted toon.

I have to disagree, I have in fact been a stronger soloist than many of the peers around me. What I meant as my role as a healer is when will I be able to do party quests and dungeons where I will be required to heal. So far no quest has been to hard to solo.

Ah well the transition is pretty easy, it is very very VERY similar to WoW.

Thnx for the replies. GL to u.

On the Hunter/Veno part. Think of a Veno as a warlock that tames pets. very very similar, pet tanks while you cast spells some of them being DoTs well one of them being a DoT.

Ya i agree... veno is closer to warlock then a hunter.

Especially if you go caster venomancer. Between the nukes and DoTs and tank pets and dmg pets... its very much like warlock.

I played a lock in wow for quite a while.. which is why I picked a veno.

your FB19 will be the first you will not be able to solo. After that, you will start to find Mini bosses, and some mobs that are difficult to solo. Your FB's will continue, FB29, 39, 49/51, 59.....keeps going.

Your importance will become rise, but always less than a higher level cleric....I guess that is an obvious statement, but I cant see any reason that by in your 30's you should not be able to run as primary healer for the FB19's as long as the squad is decent.
