Still no IP ban for Europe?

So is the statement "We won't ban Europeans after all" still right or was the plan changed? PW Europe is starting soon, but I do not want to go there because this version here is much better.

That's the question. The last post about this topic is nearly a half year old.

PW Multilingual Service (aka PW EU) started since November the 8th 2008, thus if they haven't decided to ban us since then, they won't do it in the near future either...

Frankly, they'd kill off half their playerbase, roughly, if they banned Europeans. Which means they'd lose a LOT of money because of dissatisfised customers (I, for one, would be VERY angry at losing my PWI character).

Also, the very name "international" sorta implies more than America. America, for that matter, has its own version as well. The International version is thus more directed to Americans AND Europeans, allowing us to play together.

We never planned on IP banning Europe, nor will we ever.

Also, PW Europe isn't 'starting soon.' They've been in Open Beta for approximately the same length of time that PWI has been up and running.

    Shh!

Don't dare to mention to 'other versions', although on a more serious note your post has let me breath a good sigh of relief. About 10-20% of the people I have met and become friends with are European players, we provide a fair share of zhen purchases and colourful characters.

BTW Foxybeast I sincerely hope you were'n't implying that European players should be blocked. Otherwise, attention DreamWeaver Europeans!, FoxyBeast is now KoS, IoS and KSoS. Enjoy :D.

This is why I am skeptical about spending any real money in this game - they did the same sort of thing with the game 2 moons and i lost my lvl 110 char on that - I was extremelly upset and from then on any free game i play i am allways skeptical about them especially if theres even the slightest mention of a european version thats enough to not make me buy any zen. (though not the same companys they could still sell the license to the game to a european buyer and **** all us euro folks out of our pwi chars )

I kinda see what you mean, but there was no intent at irony in my statement because PWI is still technically in 'Open Beta' as well.

    And about Brazil?

My country already has an official Perfect World version. And I sure will become more relief if I read that same statment above about us, "we are not planning BR IP block and we never will", from you Dvorak.

I played PWBR for a while and if I have to get back to that publisher, I'll find myself another game instead...b:sadb:surrender

Not necessarily. But a lot of free-MMO type games stay in 'Open Beta' status for years.

We have no plans or intention to IP block Brazil as well. While I am not as familiar with Brazil's status as I am with Europe's i will venture to say that the possibility of ever IP blocking this region is close to zero.

How about an official announcement saying that europe will not get any ip ban whatsoever? I still have my doubts as you may say that just to keep us paying for zen - not like we can do anything about it once you suddenlly say your banning the ip's is there- afterall your a business and with no official response to this except a few comments by a gm doesnt inspire confidence that its not a 100% gaurantee that you wont.

Afterall a gm is only someone employed by the company and has to say to the ppl what hes been told to say. Now if an Official post was made giving us a 100% gaurantee that you wont ban any euro ip's then I will feel safe and buy zen but untill then I am sorry but I have my doubts.

The only way I see that you could be 100% correct is if PWI and PW multi are owned by the same company or if the 2 companies have a legal agreement to allow this to remain open to Europe. Otherwise its still possible for PW Multi to force PWI to ban europe. While I am sure that PWI would fight this, it is still a possiblility.

They don't need an official announcement saying they won't be blocking european ip's,because there has never been any inkling of euro ip's being banned in the past anyway, theres already been 2 posts here saying categorically there are no plans for an ip ban.

Why would we make an 'official' announcement on something that's completely a non-issue as far as we're concerned?

PWI is a direct subsidiary of Wanmei so our marching orders come directly from the parent company, you know the ones who created and maintains this game. We're fully aware of any and all licensing arrangements and guarantees that our parent company has issued to our many licensee's around the world. One last time - Europe will not be IP blocked.
