Buffing Players - good deed or not?

Hi clerics.

As a wizard I appreciate buffs when I am solo grinding. They can really make a noticeable difference!

But I can't expect to be buffed solo grinding all the time, so I make healing orbs for +100 hp regen. per second & concentrate orbs for +100 mp per seond.

Over the last 3 days I have had 8 orbs ruined by various clerics attempting to 'help'. As a result my regen. rate drops dramatically. This can be frustrating as it takes time and coin to make the orbs.

I know most of you check first to see if another player is using an orb before buffing...but to the others who don't, please take one second to check.

@Mysticlifex, we do care, that's why we buff ;p
but its not our problem if some other clerics dont know that powders have the same icon as our buff xD

Umm, you are 82, thus you should get buffs from clerics 75+, and if they haven't learned yet "how" to buff, then there are only 2 reasons for that: 1) they are utter nubs and managed to get to higher lvls either by account trading or botting, or 2) they do it on purpose, to make you suffer, cry, loose money, and die a painful death both irl and ig...

Thank you! people are so arrogant that they take all the time bitching about something instead of actually teaching what to do and why its bad to buff.

Also, I am one of those clerics who don't know squat diddly about apoc. stuff.

If you have a problem, take it up with the game designers. It is not our (clerics) fault. We are only trying to help.

It is YOUR fault, because this "help" can be quite deadly, not to mention all coins and time to gather these powders. I think, such ignorant clerics must be repayed with BT in their face. If you don't yet understand, consider this "help" as if someone tried to help you killing mobs off-party (KSing, that is). Get it?

Once I soloed one miniboss with my 3X bm. All went nice with life powder, potions and self-heal until some cleric appeared and "helped" me with his nubish buffs. I somehow managed to stay alive, but that was hard. If you call this "help" good... I just don't know what to say.

This situation has even happened to me, yes, as a cleric. I was doing the barb at broken bow bluff for my friend (I was at a lower lvl too) and this maybe 3x cleric came along and asked to team so I did and then he buffed me with his buffs o_O This all happened while I was fighting the boss btw so it made things slightly more complicated but it was alright in the end. In conclusion, I told the cleric not to buff me and he said "oops sorry" and we all went on our merry ways.

My point is that yes I was annoyed too, but theres no need to start saying stuff like "It is YOUR fault". Just tell the cleric as everyone has said. It's not like you know everything about this game either b:laugh

Why so? It's a fault after all. Wouldn't you complain if you are, say, in fb party as a main highlvl cleric and some lowlvl starts to break you buffs?

It really isn't our fault as players that the GMs decided to make lower lvl buffs priority over lvl 10 buffs if they are cast after the lvl 10 was cast. It is not our fault that GMs decide to make the same HP/MP Regen. icon over your head as powders and as CGS. Blame the GMs. dont ***** at starting clerics. Its a game.. yell at the game designers, not clerics.

Dont bother asking for buffs ever again

This is part of game mechanics. If you blame game designers for that then why not blame them for kill stealing, losing experience upon death or, say, dropping something valuable when you are red?

This thread is about unwanted buffs. Of course, if i asked for buffs and not stated that i do not need CGS, it's my mistake. But if i join the party and cleric immediatly buffs me so fast that i do not have even a chance to say it? Or, better, if i do not join any parties and buffs are just raining from the sky?

I am pretty new at this, only a week or so, but I learned pretty quickly to check my buff target's existing buff indicators and never buff over one. Only takes a half second to check. b:pleased

well, skipping thru the flaming and trolling, I did learn a little here, since my blade and veno dont really use powders, I was not aware that a cleric buff
a) would cancel/overwrite
b) had the same icon

on my new cleric however....
I do, and maybe I wont in the future, buff blades and barbs (at the mines for instance) who have no buffs indicated under their names. I also do not randomly rez ppl, for fear that they have a higher lvl cleric on the way to save them XP.

I dont even use that buff anymore. our HP/MP Regen is a joke. In all actuality it should do 100/100 as a buff. The only reason to get it maxed as a party buff is because it looks kool when casted. There are better things to use ur SP on.

Gods, I discovered that the icon was the same purely by accident when I popped a healing powder to survive some high-interrupt mobs. At level 55.

99% of the time, we mean it well. Purely and simple. "Pure BM/wizard/barb/venomancer/archer", we think, "we'll give them some buffs! *insert giggling bubbles*". Click the macro for buffs, and then we have a screaming, angry person in our face because we thought we were being nice and reboosting his buffs (especially if you have level 10 buffs).

Learning thus that the regen powders and the cleric buff have the same icon and override each other, you learn to NOT cast the Celestrial Guardian's Seal. Then, later on, you see someone without buffs, and you throw the three 'safe' ones. Then they start screaming at you because they want the regen buff, too...
