Hi, I'm currently 79 and restatting to heavy at 80. I was just curious as to how difficult it was for a heavy armor veno to solo tt with a herc considering the lower pet heal, and if it is worth it for me to now invest in one to do so. At what levels as a HA veno will I be able to solo various TTs as compared to an arcane? Thanks.

heavy... no point in a herc...
too low a heal to even think of surviving there

Good heavy venos will have the same pet heal as a light armour.

This is correct. A properly geared heavy veno will be using the same weapon as a light armor build, with MAG relatively close, and the same level pet heal.

Which is more then enough to kill about 80% of TT bosses.

But can it survive tanking something like the three catacomb dragons en route to dimentora? Luring down the ball stairs is risky :P. Seeing as a certain heavy veno said she had TT90 heavy armor (227 str) I can see that severely gimping magic compared to a light armor (94 str for TT90)

In which way is that correct? unless you mean they are wearing heavy a few grades lower

yeah soloing TT is hard as hell and takes 2-3 hours -.-; the hardest part is that first ball after soul banishers room with the 3 dragons. Try luring one down the stairs and you might get ran over easily :P.

    lol nahhh. :p

Sometimes I have to tank all three if I mess up luring but this is what I usually do.

Stand at the top, get herc to hit 1, follow mode down to the bottom, kill. Then I run up and tank/kill the other two because they are usually grouped.

Stand to the right side and the ball rarely hits u. ;o

lol youre doing 1-2 not 1-3/2-2! 1-3/2-2 is hard as donkey nuts! (i do 2-2 with me and my veno alt for double healing lol either way im still playing alone)

As I've stated hundreds of times all over this forum, I'm using TT90 heavy, and Legend 89 magic sword. I also have a set of TT90 robes I can wear if I need the mdef. Both builds have enough magic to wear the top end weapon, and that's where the majoirty of pet heal comes from.

My magic is not gimped, the difference is light armor's accessories are generally -channeling, while heavy's are all +stats. Considering most light armors don't optimize their stats, and just do 3mag 1str 1 dex, the mags should be nearly identical.

(Sidenote: I have so much +stats from my accessories, I've actually added 20 points to vit, and am still wearing same level armor and weapon, if I had TT90 cape I could even add 20 more)

Never had a problem tanking the 3 dragons in the hall.

Heavy veno do not kill them, actually heavy veno do not kill 95% of the non-boss mobs. they run through.

I made my decsion on 89 skills since the other ones wont be had for a while.

Venomous I dont need to explain, and I prefer the demon ironwood and I'm sure you understand why.

As for foxform, I'm rarely in foxform(I dont have any skills besides amp/purge/leech/stunning blow), I consider myself a caster. Fact of the matter is if I'm jumping into foxform it's probably because I'm dying, and that speed boost is going to make me survive(by running) a hell of alot better then the slightly extra defense.(not to mention I'm probably dying by magic anyways, making the defense useless)

If I was a melee HA veno, that defense difference would be huge, but that's not the case.
