i just wanted to ask, which would be better to have:
a crystlline mag
or a torgin puppet?

i ask this because the puppet has tough lv1 and it seams as though that one is stronger then the mag. give me your opinion. b:victory

Here are the growth charts of the pets. These are the growth charts what you see in-game, also shows you the pets starting skills. http://pwi.moonalupe.com/bpl2.htm

The general rule is that, within a given line of pets (mags and torgrins, for example), the lower the starting level of the pet, the better it's stats at any given level, while the higher the starting level, the better it's starting skills.

So, for example, a lvl 60 Torgrin Brave will have worse stats than a lvl 60 Crystaline Magmite, but it will have started with better skills. Here's the thing though: skills can be bought, stats can't. What that means is that, with a little coin (ok, a LOT of coin), that Crystaline Magmite can have all the skills that the Torgrin Brave has, but the Torgrin Brave can NEVER equal it in stats.

Some of the higher level pets come with skills at a level which you can't buy yet. e.g. The level 32 Torgrin Brave has Bash 3, which you can't purchase until the crystalline is level 40. In a more extreme case, the L46 Eldergoth Sharpshooter has Bash 5 vs. the L41 Eldergoth Marksman's Bash 4. You can't buy an upgrade to Bash 5 until the Marksman is level 80.

So while it's true that the Sharpshooter can NEVER equal the stats of the Marksman, it's also true that between levels 46-79 the Marksman can NEVER equal the skills of the Sharpshooter.

There's also the matter of the legendary pets. If you're planning on getting the baby herc and don't wish to spend/waste any money upgrading your golem's skills, the volcanic magmite may be a better choice than the crystalline magmite because it comes with Tough.

If you are going to keep the golem until very high levels, then go back and tame either the Volcanic or Crystalline Magmite. If you aren't, then the Togirn Puppet will work fine.
