New Guild Idea.

I had a new idea for a guild, though I'm not sure if it would work. So I'm posting this on the forums in order to get some peer feedback.

Basically, here's how the guild would work:

It would be a small guild, maybe level 1 or something. It would work somewhat like a Private Military Company. Other guilds could pay us to PK their enemies, maybe even giving us a specific list of players to PK.

The guild would do TW differently from other guilds. I'm thinking that if the guild got some high level players, they could be 'loaned' to other guilds for TW. What would happen is that they would be temporarily kicked out of this guild and recuited by the guild they are being loaned to for TW. After TW, regardless if the TWing guild won or lost, the player would leave that guild and rejoin this one.

And of course the guild would also run FBs for people and things all guilds do. The only major difference is that all guild members participating in the TW, FB, or PK they were contracted for would be paid for their services. And in the event that the contracted players were not paid, then the offending guild would no longer be allowed to use the services of this PMC guild and put on a KoS.

I'd have to work out what the rates would be for TWs, FBs, and PKs.

Please tell me what you guys think.

    An army for hire, eh? I'm sure you'd find some people interested in hiring y'all but I shall pass. It's an interesting idea, but I'm not sure how well it'd fare on Harshlands. It could do exceptionally well with a lot of guilds hanging back, and not engaging in overt PvP or KoS, or it could totally flop because people like to do things themselves.

    But that's the cool thing about the game. If you want to play it that way, then yes, you can go the mercenary route :) Could make things more interesting. Just vette your clients well and make sure they're people you want to do business with before you let them hire you to be their attack dogs.

    Anyone from the older servers/versions hear of a guild like this before, and know how well it fared?

    Uhhh, unless you're planning on leveling a lot faster and only working for people who are stupidly low level, this won't work.

    Regardless of level it doesn't matter who came up with it.. I kind of like that idea and it's been in every game I have played...

    Something UO had which I LOVED was that you could post a hit on someone in a bulletin board next to the bank, and you could give the reward. Once you kill someone you get their head and you are the only one that can turn in the bounty.

    I think they took it out after a while because they didn't like the idea of chopping a head off.

    But as for loaning players for TW it happens already. But if you are going to have that idea I hope you don't use a lvl 41.

    I'd love to see how you're going to merc people as a lvl 4x.. barb...
    Heck, you can't even stop yourself getting rolled by people your level.

    You could do it, just have to start small. You will be worthless for TW loaners for now but as you guys level that won't be so at some point. Meanwhile you can do the bounty thing, mostly people your level and little above/below. Make some cash, level up, and grow in siz and rep. Like everything else it takes time to do but if you are dedicated to it eventually it could become big and i am sure fun to do

    Hell i will join, I am so freaking bored on this server i got nothing else to do. Last two days i spent 4 hours in the swamp each and saw maybe 3 other people. Jeez can we can some players on this server

    sounds intresting, im just a lvl 16 barb right now, but i just started this afternoon, im hoping to lvl up as quickly as i can.
