fix faction slogan

limiting the faction slogan to 50 chars is 1 thing.. but not allowing spaces or punctuation of any sort is sort of foolish, how can you put a slogan when it's all 1 word?

I mean how easy is it to read: WelcomeToFusionAskForTheVentAndWebInfo

especially in the small font that is used by the game

    and if you're already working on it, please give us more spaces for titles so you can write a full name there (for marking alts)

    This is especially annoying when you want to have more than one announcement, or when you want to put your guild's website in there. For example:
    ****FACTION SLOGAN****
    wwwDOTpwguildforumDOTcomBYtheWAYguysIwontBEonTHISweekendSOnoTW
    ****/FACTION SLOGAN****
    That slogan wouldn't even be able to fit with the 50 character limit ><

    EDIT: For some reason there's a space after the "w" in weekend; can't delete it, since when I edit it, there isn't a space after it in the input box.

    I cant put spaces, periods, or commas in the slogan. Wtf! It's not like they are strange characters. This is a serious issue and should be fixed A.S.A.P. The character limit i can live with but this...?

    You can use quotation marks:

    I know this thread is kind of old but this is an issue that should have been one of the first things fixed when PWI came out. I can't believe it's gone this long unattended too. GMs please fix the slogan function for the factions. It's very annoying to deal with, and can be vital to get information to the whole faction.

    I agree with this suggestion. Being able to use punctuations and spaces, and even a little more room would be nothing short of awesome.

    Eww. I don't like text to be seen like that. To most, it'll just look like spam.

    I really want spaces to be available and maybe a boost to total characters inputed.

    I agree the faction thing needs spaces its really hard to put everything in there
    and when we post stuff with underscores its confusen still, please please fix it, and if possible up the number of chars on it, b:surrender theres a max of 50 but u can fit alot more on it..thx!! b:bye

    mods, do not lock; recurring bugs (oh, i'm sorry, "non-intended features") like this are known as regressions in the industry, and there are well known ways of preventing them. (unit testing, regression testing, test-driven development, and -- ahem -- TESTING YOUR PATCHES before releasing them.)

    this thread was outdated... now it's not; hopefully it will be again, soon... but unless PWE learns how to write software, some day it may be not a necro once again. so leave it open against future need, okay?

    very good point Lenie.

    I presume that the fix they put in to prevent use of non Alpha/Numerics in Faction Names has reverted the slogan box to it's former inflexible self. Seems odd that these two fields are so directly related - can only guess at sloppy/lazy programming when defining input box styles/controls.

    I'm trying to put a simple message in my slogan to tell my guild that you guys have broken the icons but are trying to fix it ... but apparently letters are now considered invalid characters ...

    "IconBrokenFixInProgress" was denied, with or without caps, as being "invalid"

    I swear you guys break everything you touch ... please, just stop.
