Kiting (running)

Is that what it's called?
I was told that as a wizard, since I'm not good at taking physical damages... I should run while attacking...
but how does running serve me if it takes time to attack in the first place... by the time I attack the mobs would've reached me already.
Am I doing something wrong?

First off always keep gush lvled and open with it. Now the trick to kiting in this game before you get distance shrink is there is usually a small delay between when you hit the button to cast the spell, and when it actually begins casting, in this time you can move back some. It takes a bit of practice to get the timing down, but it can save you some pain. Once you get distance shrink kiting becomes a bit easier since DS moves you X meters in teh direction you are facing (hint: turn away from the enemy before using this skill), thus buying you some time. Now at the lower levels of DS the distance is about enough for one attack, but sometimes thats all it takes.

When you hit 39 you can get will of the phoenix (wop), which is a knockback move, sadly this skill isn't a great thing if the enemy is ranged as most ranged mobs stop before getting into range of wop, but its great for pure physical mobs.

At 49 you get force of will (fow) which seals the mobs acting as a stunm but instead of staying put they run away from you giving you time to counter attack. FoW really gets good as it gets higher in lvl because the cd is reduced and teh seal time is increased.

It's actually not a good idea to push back ranged mobs. Better to get close to them. Usually I do just this: gush-pyro-gush then distance shrink to mob and suffer one hit (reduced to 1/2 if I do not lag); then mob starts to run from me and I finish it with another gush-pyro-gush.

I don't use dragon's breath at all, mainly because I'm on a pvp server. gush stone rain gush pyro is the most damage dealing.

Dragons Breath is pretty specialized. You'll use it around lev 59 for Zhen. Lev 3 for pure, lev 5 for LA. Thats another topic though and you've got a few levs before it matters. For now just lev 1 to look at it.
