Will Genie work in PvP/Pk?
GM pls only make Genie work only with PvE don't make it have anything to do with PvP -.-'
like anti stun skill
EP sleep -->anti stun activate -->resist sleep T.T
BM Stun --->same thing --->resist....

    Blood Clot that doesn't work in PvP? How about weapons that don't work if you're in battle mode? Or potions that don't heal you if you're wounded?

    Anti-debuff potion already exist. So those genie's skills wont change anything.
    All them bring are already included in the game except few skills.

    yea but so many people don't use apoth pots in open pvp or TW...

    the genie will make it more widely used and will change the game greatly.. i just hope it won't break it .. also the way it is being done.. (leveling through sp) makes it another high level only expansion.. all the lower levels are gonna be stuck with level 1 genies or low level skills

    also i don't like that it will interchange with sage/demon fairy.. the sage/demon is recognition for you getting to 89+ and your work you put in.. while anyone can have this genie

    Yeah but this way players can stack the skills, making them even harder to kill.

    If you need to use status effects like sleep and stun to win pvp, learn to play. With this you won't get too much use out of them so you won't ever win if you don't learn your class better.

    Thats why the dev make genies getting random stats each 10 levels. So high level full of sp wont rush leveling them. Time will pass before some people get good genies with good stats and skills, enough time to let lowbies have a chance I hope.

    It'll make people think other way to win instead of just stun lock or sleep. I hope they have done a good balance work.

    Let's wait and see ^^

    there goes zoe on about not using game given skills to win at pvp ... sleep and stun are skills that give classes more survivability.. using them to your best advantage makes you a good pvper..

    just like using these genie skills/apoth pots are part of strategy and using them smartly and effectively will make you a better pvper

    if a player doesn't need sleep/stun to win.. i guess a veno shouldn't use bramble hood.. kiting.. a pet.. lucky scarab.. any of that stuff and still be able to win at pvp ... i'd laugh at a veno not using those tactics in pvp.. easy win

    haha maiya too slow.. yay flames

    anyway.. to stay on topic.. the high levels will have massive amounts of sp to try their genies out and level them up.. making it a high level thing and no low level will be able to level them high while in the low stages... i know i didn't have spare sp until i hit 80.. and i'd rather do without a genie than do without my actual class skills

    Tell me please, when you are totally dependent on sleep and stun and the other guy simply resists it all, what are you going to do? Run and hide since you can't do **** when the other guy can fight back?

    It would seem so. A barb friend of mine got that 79 skill that make him immune to things and no one can kill him at all anymore. Pvp failures for not being able to fight without them.

    Also, a veno in foxform doesn't do any of what you mentioned. It has no stuns, they have a buttload of phy def so they don't need to kite, and most of the time they don't even need a darn pet so I don't know what kind of **** venos you deal with.

    an arcane veno in fox form is still very squishy .. so i dunno what you are talking about .. the only fox form veno i have ever lost to is a heavy fox veno.. 120% of a base 800 pdef or whatever is still low

    and you have obviously never dueled/pvp anyone who is good at their class if you win in fox form not moving just doing your little life leech and crappy melee damage moves to a heavy armor user ..

    and just because you use them doesn't mean you are dependent on them.. i could argue that your friend is dependent on his resist skill.. violent triumph lasts what.. 15 seconds? just delay your stun till afterwards.. what does your pal do after his violent triumph wears off? run away and call everyone a wimp for using stuns?

    Actually, I think the random stats every so often will help lower lvl characters get decent ones. The high lvl players with tons of SP to burn will get multiple genies and level them up to see which ones get the best stats (both initially and every 10 lvls). What do you think those high lvls will do with all the mediocre genies? They certainly won't throw them in the garbage. They'll sell them in catshops and possibly AH if there's an option there. Yes, it's another high-coin option for low lvl players, but coin is much easier to farm than SP.

    true but that means the low level players will have to have coin... the first decent genies will probably be ridiculously expensive

    Mediocre genies will be burned into exp stone, I dont think high level will feed up lot of genies since the sp to genies exp sufer from a level gap reduction ^^.

    Fact is genies are, from what I've seen, a alternative of apothecary. And good pvper out here wont feel the change since they already use pots. The genies skill cooltdown are comparable to pots cooldown. I can tell that by my experience, most of people i dueled/pvp with were surprised "WTF stun didnt work Oo" or "No way my sleep didnt work :O", genies will just allow me stop farming those damn herb :)

    You can decompose Genies into Experience Stone. Those stone can give experience to another genie. Getting a genie cost 3 mirage celestones. So High level will feed up one Genie, decompose it to a stone and try on another one.
    I don't know if those stones suffer from the level gap restriction, and i hope it will. 3 mirage is nothing for highs (75k).

    There is a thread called "FAQ abount Genies" which resume pretty well how they work.
    And btw you get a quest to get it, giving you your first genie and a experience stone according to your level.

    yea i skimmed through that post.. i'm not thrilled about genies though so i didn't read too in depth haha.. it depends on how it is implemented in this version.. it could be an enhancement.. or it could be a diaster.. we'll see when it finally comes

    There is three thing I want from genies:
    the HP/MP recovery skill under water (it'll save my mp charm)
    and the physical skill like plume shot (to get ride of magical resistant mobs, undine strike is good but a physical skill will help a bit :) )
    And the maximum hp increase buff (quite good for a Wizard :) )

    yea i was looking at that skill spreadsheet one day... there are quite a few i'd like.. the aoe aggro one would help for rebirths .. the anti stun/sleep also very useful for rebirth 86+.. any self buff pretty much would be nice ..

    is the hp buff even available to a barb or stack with our current hp buff.. that would be pretty OP if it did

    Sorry, had to post this.

    But yeah, Fox tends to be poor against melee classes. Especially because the only time you get to fox form is unarmed or magic weapon, and neither grant good physical attack.

    I'm mostly looking forward to the HP buff (hope it lasts long), and don't really know what else. I haven't really looked at the skills that in-depth.

    Does anyone recall if the elements/stats are predetermined on the genies? I want the water one, but not necessarily the skills of water. :P

    yea its impressive.. although most of the time there is like.. 2 7X and 1 5X (maybe.. can't remember what level those brown axes are) BM whacking away... and like an 8X cleric .. the nix comes in at the end but there is no telling what level that is

    impressive none the less .. but my comments were in regards to an arcane fox

    heavy fox form venos are very formidible.. i hate fighting them.. there is an 8X one on sanctuary that i've tried to kill many times.. my only slight victory was when i killed her polar bear haha and i've seen her take down 9X BMs

    Genies aren't out yet and people are already QQing... I can pretty much picture what threads we'll be dealing with when they do come out.

    although the veno/nix threads have died down recently.. i'm disappointed.. get to posting you haters!

    Guys, Zoe knows that pro player auto-attack only. Frankly skills are for those simpletons too stupid to figure out how to click left mouse-button on target. Timing skills for spike damage and stun times are for losers who have no skill and can't PvP.

    Level 90 light armor veno. Not heavy. ;P It's pretty easy to view if you have it on HD. I was trying to see how long I could stay alive, lol xD. The nix was mine, it went somewhere for a couple minutes so I called it back to me.

    I was mainly trying to point out that fox is just a defensive tool. I haven't leveled my fox skills much (cept purge and amp), but I mostly just use it for extra defense to run around in. When I used to be arcane, I had 1100 or so defense in human and probably less than 2500 in fox. I still died... a lot in that form.

    I haven't heard whether the look of the Genie corresponds to its abilities yet. I'd like the autumn one myself, but I haven't decided on what kind of skills i'd like to get. I'll wait and see when it comes out, they only previewed the tip of it to us, I believe.
