is crafting a must?

it seems I can never get the Mats I need for things I can wear at my level and its curtainly not money earning so is it actually important to level or if I just sell all my Mats will that be fine?

    No crafting is not a must, At least for me when I play, you generally make enough to buy new armor or quest items will do :)

    Later on I think you can just trust a guild member if they have high enough crafting to make the items for you, provided you give them the mats.
