Is there a list somewhere that shows how much aggro each pet skill takes? I want to know what to teach my Shadou Cub. Like if Bash holds aggro better than Flesh Ream.

I don't think there is, what we know about aggro is mostly based on empyrical experience. Bash is generally recognized as the best aggro holding skill, followed by Flesh Ream and the different elemental attacks. It is almost standard to replace a Shadou Cub's pierce with Bash. Solandri is trying to figure precisely that on a an interesting thread he just started, tho it might take him some time as he seems to be keeping himself busy commenting on people's penchants. b:chuckle

Heh. I'm unable to play the game to continue my testing too, so I'm hanging out making comments on the forums as well. b:chuckle

So how would Bash, Flesh Ream, Boost, and Tough sound for my Cub? I don't plan on getting a Hercule though. Feel they look ugly in comparison. >_<

After my tests in the other topic I started, I took my cub with Bash 4 on a test spin in FB59, FB51, and some outdoor mobs. Bear in mind that I'm a heavy/arcane build so my mag is only 3x my level. For all the following, I had Bash 4 set as the active skill. Edit: My veno is 67, the cub is 66.

If I started attacking by casting a spell, and the cub attacked via auto-attack, then I drew aggro.

If I sent the cub in first, then spammed Ironwood, Venomous, Venomous, etc, then I drew aggro around the 4th or 5th spell. If I had to toss in some heals, I either never drew aggro or only drew aggro after about the 8th-10th DD.

If I sent the cub in first with Pounce (stun + increased attack speed), then I either never drew aggro or only drew it after the 8th-10th DD.

I tried sending in the cub using both Bash and Flesh Ream. The only time I drew aggro was on an archer mob in FB51 that was doing very little damage, so I didn't have to heal. After like the 12th sequential DD, I pulled aggro.

If you're going to give the cub both Bash and Flesh Ream (and I presume level them up), I don't think you'll have any problems. No way would I replace Pounce with Boost though.

Venos have some of the lowest DPS in the game though, so while the cub will work for solo play, I'd be hesitant to have it tank in a group. I think other players would pull aggro off of it too easily.

b:laugh Solandri is right, whatever you do, don't touch Pounce. Using Pounce, Bash and Flesh Ream i've never had any trouble dealing with aggro, even working with archers. When dealing with bosses, it should be noted that any DD should give a pet much more leeway than they would a barb. 90% seems a good place to start hitting in TT, tho i would usually recomend nothing over 80% before they let loose with anything but the usual openers like Serrated Arrow.
