Do Admins even care?

OK, from what I have read people are having problems for atleast 6 months by now, with some Vista's (Ultimate 32bit for example.) -- Updating wise.
Also I have made several topics, and they just seem to not care.
If you dont care anyway, might wanna think about making a topic
" Sorry if you have update problems with Vista, just do not play this game. Or Install another Operating system. "

beleive it or not the gm's do have other duties to attend to rather
answering every single problem that people come up with
as for your problem with vista
first download all the latest neccesary drivers
flash, shockwave, java
and depending on your graphics card
the latest directX
vista has crappy background firewalls that blocks alot of incoming programs
which is (most likely) why your having trouble patching
my suggestion
un-install and delete the whole game
check your firewall settings turn them off for the duration
of the download
then download the game again
make sure to download it to a desktop folder so like "Perfect world install"instead of to your program file folders
then then install the game into another desktop folder so create your own
"perfect world game"
run your patcher
*hit verify from launcher*
now turn on your firewall again making sure that perfect world is listed as an exception
so it's not firewalled
if.. your still ahving problems after that
i dono
play on your other computer then.0 -
I am, its not a big deal. I dont think GMs have higher priorities then some OS's not being compitable with their game though.
Also this used to be my problem when I was using Vista, and things you just said dont work coz i have tried all those.
Also use the " Search " function to see how many people have the same problem.
And never got an answer ever. In not a single topic there is something that actually works.
Thats not just a problem, its a major problem.0 -
I seem to remind.. that the game is developped by chinese ppl, that our GMs ( may they be Gms, Admins or others) try to make the game work for the majority of users on the more standard of computers/ OS
They will see to find a way to the problems you may have, or try to have feedback from the chinese devs, to find solutions
But... correct me if i am still wrong.. they arent the one programing the game, nor the OS.
Your remark ( or banter) is the kind of remark i do get daily at work.
I m a network engineer ( specialised in architecture, security, telephony, windows servers.. ) and everybody thinks that because of that.. the new software i didnt recommand for installation in the entreprise, doesnt work on that computer, but works fine on the clone besides, and I dont do a thing to find a solution.
Have you tried to have feedbacks from Micro$oft or some dev companies?
It takes some mounths !!! and sometimes you wont get any responses.... if the problem is windows side.. it may take a new version of de OS, if it comes from the soft, you may need to wait for an hypothetical update (if enough ppl report the problem)
Windows does have some issues allocating memory, try to tweak the memory management of windows (bootvis) , change your memories, reinstall the game after a defrag of the HD
But what may work for you may not work for your neighbour. (imagine the time needed to find all the reasons and solutions for every single users)I look at all the trollers, and Pvpers.. and know they wouldnt have lasted 30sec on Camelot.
Rules= Know your enemy (players and NPCs) gives you more chances to survive.0 -
Just a quick point umm... GM's are GM's. NOT game programmers and designers. They can't just go FIX the game itself, simply help us get around bugs and pit falls. And out of all the MMO's ive played... PWI has the best GM's in game and fourm assist wise. I mean... I can't even count the number of times Ayanne has problem solved for me0

Ok, for those of you who are complaining about Vista's ineptitude at running this game's patcher. Fear not because it's running perfectly on mine (Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit) ._. Yes, perfectly. What I think you should do is uninstall the game and reinstall it (I hope you kept the 2.4gb download) ^_^ After this, go to the directory you installed it to, find patcher.exe. It should be in the "patcher" folder. Right click->Properties->Security. Highlight your username and click "full-control" n.b. you must be logged on as an admin account on your laptop/pc w/e. Ok, now make sure you have the latest updates for your OS etc SP1 and whatnot.... Now, head to Control Panel->Windows Firewall(answer the security pop-ups)->Allow a program through Windows Firewall(it's on the top left) A Windows Firewall properties tab should appear. Now click Add programs...-> Find Perfect World on the list and use "browse" if necessary. Do the same for Patcher.exe OKIE DOKIE now run the game and pray to God it works???? I'm not that great with this kind of thing and I think it should work after this, just make sure you hit allow and whatnot. When any security pop-ups appear relating to PWI, hit allow/yes etc.. Ummmm.. When this kind of stuff happens to me, I just tinker with stuff until it works... Hope this helps...BTW it helps in general to do this stuff on anadmin account P.S. I know I'm noob... Shut up ._. I'm just trynah help out mkay?I swear, whatever happened. I didn't do it ._.0

There are some issues with users of WinXP 64bit and Vista64bit with some of the latest nVidia and ATI drivers. Sometimes, of you have the wrong combo, you wind up being Simply Out of Luck when the odds don't roll right in your favor.
As for Vista32bit and XP32bit, we have both here in the office and run all of our games fine on both OSes, nVidia and ATI alike.
We can play email tag going over your dxdiag and hijackthis logs and see what is going on. http://support.perfectworld.com/ticketing
We usually (or I do anyways) take more complicated issues from the forums and to the ticketing system, simply because I can get screenshots and log files from the user directly instead of people trying to copy and paste stuff in the forums, which is too time consuming when we're trying to get users back in the game.Do you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?

Thanks for replying.
For the meantime, I'll ask my friend to setup a VNC server and try to find a fix.
If I'll find a fix, where should I send it? Or should I just create a new topic?
Thanks.0 -
