Crimson Horn: Soulsmasher vs. Dragonbow at level 90

Suppose I am level 90, and I have Crimson Horn: Soulsmasher already (a big "suppose", I know). Is it worth it to obtain Dragonbow? Or should I just keep to my Crimson Horn? I have no idea what effort is involved in obtaining Dragonbow, but I do know getting Crimson Horn: Soulsmasher requires some dedication.

Basically, I'm wondering which of the following paths I should take (I'm level 77 at the moment):

1) Obtain Crimson Horn: Soulsmasher for level 80s. Obtain Dragonbow for level 90s.

2) Obtain Crimson Horn: Soulsmasher for level 80s. Use it in my 90s.

3) Use my current weapon until 90s. Obtain Dragonbow for level 90s.

4) Follow some other path that only uses bows. I'm a roleplayer, and my character tries to use only bows.

Any recommendations? I'm PvE only, partial hybrid build (7-2-1).

FYI, I am currently using the following bow. I rate it slightly below Winds and the Clouds in grinding effectiveness, but its uniqueness and coolness factor makes up for it.

    I never used Crimson Horm but I will say the Dragonbow is very pretty :)

    Chance to knockback?! Really? Wow I've never heard of this effect and its not listed on pwdatabase for that bow

    Wow, pretty decent grind 3* you have there!

    Personally even as a roleplayer I would suggest +5 or higher a Crimson for pure grinds even in 90s, and only for TW or PVP do you pull out an xbow, usually by then radiance. But up to you if you want to stay pure roleplayer or not. If you are, personally I would say make a dragonbow and + it as i guess the constant upgrade in dmg from the dragonbow over time outweighs the gloom advantage. dont forget, + it up high!

    I have never zhenned before, but it can trigger when I use Barrage of Arrows.

    I really like my bow, mainly because it makes me different from every other archer on the server. The knockback triggers about 5% of the time. It's kind of funny when you get a "MISS" but the creature flies backward a bit. The downsides are:

    (1) I sometimes knock the creature back into its friends, which sometimes have group aggro
    (2) I cannot use it certain squad situations, such as 20/20/20.
    (3) It never triggers against bosses. It thankfully triggers on mini-bosses.

    I bought it for 800k when I was in my level 40s. It already had the +3 Refinement and the Beautiful Garnet Shard. I think that's a good deal, although Winds and the Cloud might still be cheaper (I have no idea how much it costs to refine to +3).

    I'll post a screenshot when I get on tonight.

    I guess I never knew what this meant :) Anyone have a list of all "Additional Skills"? I'm trying to imagine my ideal bow.

    i think Miyakoto means use crimson for grinding thru 90s and for TW and PVP use the blinding radiance. However if u plan to only use bow, use a dragonbow but + it high and it will outweigh the gloom advantage.

    Oops! My apologies for the confusion and thank you arwen for the clarification. However Elena the idea i suggested is only to be considered if you have a well-off income and bank at the moment, if not I personally would suggest Blinding Radiance for pvp and sticking with a +'d Wind and Clouds for Pve.

    However if you are still considering to be a pure roleplayer then the Dragon bow is you can almost say the only option you have left, as a dragonbow +'d has a more higher consistent dmg than the gloom effect from Soulsmasher. Personally I use a +5 soulsmasher and find it amazing on grinds, so if YOU can afford the soulsmasher PVE/ Blinding Radiance PVP combo, i would strongly suggest it. If not, then get past the 80s fast, and build a dragonbow and + it high up when you hit 90.

    assuming u have a +7 soulsmasher, would a +6 dragon bow be better? or would it be better to just stick to the +7 soulsmasher?

    Ah, I do not participate in the slaying of other heroes, so there is no need for me to obtain a crossbow of any sort.

    Crossbows are also better for skills such as barrage of arrows. This makes them useful for zhen and rebirth.

    Not really.... if drops go to charm users you usually only lose like 50-60k in coins per hour after charms and repairs. This compares pretty favorably to the cost of crazy stone at 81+ (71550 coins).

    +6 of any 90 weapon has better damage than a +7 of a 80 weapon. DragonBow is a pretty bad weapon tbh you should really get youself a blinding radiance its the best 9x archer weapon. If u have the same or higher + or a BR it is far better in pve than a crimson despite the lower attack speed simply because of the MUCH higher damage.

    lol Chao i suggested that route as to most people dont have much of an income here or how to make enough to achieve gear that several can. =). The wind and clouds was a cheaper method if one doesnt have enough $ in the 90s.

    no no no to get it you would spend more in charms then a soulsmasher costs, and more time then it takes to just get to 90, ok slight exaggeration, but no still
