A few cash-item questions

I just bought a pair of chain pants that I thought would look cool when combined with this armor I got. I was wondering if it's possible to mix and match cash item clothing with in-game armor?

Also are items (such as in-game armor pieces) able to be altered by using color dyes? And if so where can I do that. (I have dye already and I tried the seamstree but she only changes clothing.)

    Not possible to match armor with fashion items.

    It isn't possible to change armor pieces with dyes either.
