lol great post...buuut...i dont totally agree with u .am a tank build...normal gear, with just a TT60 axe and i pwn in pvp, thats bcoz am always broke spending my money on skills that i need in pvp more than skills that may help in tanking..tanking is easy if u have 3 skills.. Alacrity of the Beast , flash ream and talk is cheap, the rest is ur choice;) if u think a barb has low accuracy...ForGod sake buy the apothecary book lvl 4 n make ur accuracy powder a lvl 80+ archer will be like "WTH , he MISSED ONLY ONCE!!! DID I CHOOSE THE WRONG CLASS OR WATb:shocked" n then hes dead aksing for a rematch,,,, STUNT STUNT STUNT!!! WE HAVE THE BEST STUNT SKILL if u lvl it 2 10 n with the 6 sec cooldown its like 3X lion roar aka a bm doing lion roar three tyms in a row...which means the battle's over

too me the easiest class for me is the archer..which iit should be our weekness

dont have to be so surprised lol... a decent barbarian is always able to tank his own bosses, dungeons etc. (with a few exceptions offcourse)
and the 49 culti bosses arent very hard to begin with, still its a nice feeling eh b:laugh

and if you want to be decent at tanking, at least lvl up alacrity and fleshream, theres no way your gonna be worth anything as a tank without those 2 skills lvled up at higher lvl.
Sunder is also worth levelling, bleed makes it easier to keep aggro vs. high damage dealing pets in TT for example.

Actually what a barb can and can't tank isn't really decided just by the barb. Its also depends on the healers.
I tanked FB69 bosses for my guildies and Krimson at 63. (Lol must've been a mega charm burn for them b:chuckle).
Then at lvl70 got wiped by them about three times when doing them for a bunch of randoms.

So, basically how well you can tank depends on:
1. Your HP, gear and skills.
2. Your Clerics.

Just stole aggro form a level 87 BM killing TT 1-1 Drum Boss squad mode b:victory Died very quickly, and it's probably not abnormal, but it still feels cool to say it

It's funny how you'll die in a higher levels' party because they don't understand that flesh ream actually steals the aggro and, if needed, roar as well, etc. I burned a quarter of a charm tanking fb 39, because the actual "tank", a level 6x barbarian who I'm not gonna name, was using human form, so the wizard/archer would have easily stolen aggro. What a noob... And neither of the 2 clerics wanted to understand that my hp was not dropping because I was so low level, but because I was the one getting the hits.

You know, sometimes it makes a difference to actually read at least the basic guide for other classes too, or at least listen to what someone has to say, even if they are lower level.
Yeah, on a more cheery note, I tanked Gouf at level 43, with 2 clerics. Quite fun, but took a while.

Back on track however, I have 143 str, 40 dex, rest is in vit, that's with no armour/ornament bonuses (which are quite good to be honest). I've taken down one/two level higher barbarians and even BMs, clerics too (don't let them heal themselves) and will get lvl 4 apothecary skill, so I won't have troubles with archers either. The only class I find a bit scary is the Veno... They have some serious fire power with that nix and even the sawfly can be a bit of a problem. But I will devise a tactic to take them out too ("evil laugh"). Basically, if you have less str and more vit, you're a lot harder to kill - if you have more str, you'll kill things faster, but you will also die quicker. It's a matter of choice really.

Ii'm tank and have rather tiger build, because .. I think that tiger looks cute b:cute and barbarian looks strange and ugly! b:shocked And... I thinked cuz barb is the best in tanking, so if I want be the best in someting and want to be tiger I should be tank xD maybe on higher lvls I'll put some points in barb skills .. at least my barb have 50 lvl..

BTW. I'm female tiger ^_^

I pretty much ignored the entire tiger form tree outside of rank one tiger form and, I think, the bleed effect skill.


Reason: currently don't tank anything anyway and rarely use tiger form except for the increased movement thing, and there simply isn't enough spirit to do both the human form tree and the tiger form tree outside of, maybe, that one bleed effect skill.

i would havta agree with this dude.
at level EIGHTEEN i was able to tank a lv20 darkbreed wolfkin and keep that one off a humanoid form barb b:chuckle and a veno.

it took me a lifepowder, let powder cool before starting, and a chaos powder during (no cleric was around), but by golly i did it. lol

They're a lot of non tank barbs in perfect world. But I prefer the tank class. I have 1000 phys defense and health over pk barbs and I get kill mobs in human form in 4-8 shots my level. And I've never updated a humanoid skill since lvl20 besides stomp of the beast king lvl 25. I've tried many barb build including the mighty bowbarian, but the best build is the tank by far.

Ok, what the hell is with all the necro lately? And why am I in the barb section?

well i just tank tt 2-2 tonight and didnt die subed hard mode i have my tiger skills maxed flesh 10 devour 9 Alacrity 7 poison 8 sund 5 rour 5 tt70 gears and legg mold your only good has your clerics are misty ring helps axe mastery lvl10 human skills are good too genie i use tree lvl10 sheild lvl10 and thunderstorm 8 and holy path i stick with weapon and armor for srt and dex rest on vit dex is 50 i have 9662hp still need to upgrade some more skill costs alot lol
i have thunder axes soo i need to up my str fot tt tt80 axes then back to vit again
but love being the tank is fun and everyone need one fbs tts and mini boses

High dex tank build, one point of dex per level and it hasn't failed yet.
Shot a wizard to death in a duel because I promised I'd go easy then used Blood Bath and a level 22 legendary bow to poke holes in him to the tune of 400-500 damage each hit.
My gear has a ton of vit and +hp stats and a lot of +str on a couple rings and a hat. I can switch out to have more HP if Ihave a big nasty to tank, but I can usually get away with the +str gear. never missing with Alacrity is priceless in a boss fight. [/incoherrent]
