Complaint about air pets

<whine> Why do all the good air pets have to be insects? </whine>

Seriously. All the air pets are insects until level 34, when you get the Foxwing, which is accurate as all get out but can't hit worth fecal matter. The only other one that exists (to my knowledge) is the Phoenix, and that justisn't accessible for most players.

Is anyone aware of a decent flying pet that isn't a bug?

    and still practically inaccessible unless you're one hell of a tamer, or have the coin to shell out for it. I wish they would allow for us to tame more of the creatures that exist in the game. I think it would be cool to have a pterosaur or a vipent for a air pet.

    EXACTLY!!! What is it that makes some animals tameable and others not? Why can't we be allowed to try tame all or at least most animals. In the real world, there are few animals that can't be trained in one way or another. It's just that some are harder to train. It should be the same in PW.

    According to the game we can't tame creatures infested by the wraith (I think we can't tame humaniod creactures either but I'm not certain) so it really cheeses me off that we can't tame creatures that seem to be fair game as far as the skill description goes.

    Yeah I know lol. Theres alot of mobs that don't look "infested" like the shark mobs. It's just the laziness of the devs showing.

    They probably did it to simply keep the number of pets they had to code stats for, and create pet specific models for, down. As it is, the number of mobs that can be tamed is pretty extensive, and a lot of the mobs that can be tamed and used simply aren't.

    Also, only non-humanoid and non-wraith infested mobs are tameable.

    i bought the piggy cause i couldn't stand insects and foxwings too
    i can't complain it's really cute,small - doesn't get in the way and has good defences and decent attack.
    as for the non tamable ones i've always had an eye on that mechanic bird i don't know the mob's name
    i think there are some in the air around orchid temple

    I keep seeing insects around with players. It seems like every veno I see in Arch has one. Its a shame that this "wraith" thing can't let us tame decent animals

    Pffft Don't know what you guys have against Foxwings. My Foxwing of the Void does me plenty well. Came with Flesh Ream, Howel, and Lightning (Great against all those [Wood] fliers) and does plenty of damage. I can solo one monster while he kills another without a problem.

    Because, even the Wraiths wouldn't touch it with a 10-foot pole like most venos probably wouldn't. b:chuckle

    heh i kinda wished the fire undines near north of the map were tameable. you know, lvl 4x, shot fireballs, casted paralyze..you dont really run into them in any quests because they float really high up.

    would've just been like water undines but flying

    I think we could do with some different ones anyway. I would love to see a Parrot or Bat mob be created that venos could also tame :D

    The only thing I really have against the foxwing is that it gets in my face and is noisy. I like the SFX in the game but when my foxwing comes out, I mute everything. It's a bother. Stat-wise, it's not all too decent but I don't mind having it around, I suppose. I can heal it without it being a big problem.

    and also how do i get a pet that i can ride on?

    They usually have th word wraith in their name if they're infected by them.
    As far as pets you can ride on. You can't tame any, they're all bought from the cash shop. Though from what I hear they take up a pet bag slot. I don't know for sure though since I've never had a land mount. If someone could confirm or correct me on this it would be appreciated.

    Yes a land mount takes 1 pet bag slot.

    There are the two DQ horse mounts and the two horse mounts you can buy with in-game coin from the Pet Managers.

    How do u get pet flies, like the flying ray?
    I also heard that the flying ray can only be gotten at lvl 30. Am i right?

    Yes, you get the flying ability and a flying pet with a lvl 30 quest.

    Yeah, buy piggy and learn it Flash Ream(phys def+bug=Death b:chuckle ).. naah.. I have just Petite Safly, I catched it on 72 lvl o.o ... now have 53 lvl with bash)lvl3) and Flash ream(lvl3), I haven't problems on Supreme Foxwings(lvl60) with agrro. Safly is cooler then my old squishy Minstress(32lvl when tamed). I think that tank in air is good(piggy), but I like more pure attack pet. b:laugh
    My chars: 97 barb, 87 cleric, 91 veno, 80 archer, 74 Blademaster, 34 Psychic, 30 Assasin, 20 Wizard, 44 Seeker, 20 Mistyc.

    ^ I have SO many personalities to play them all! b:cute

    I can't see those pets in say the city of Arch as to their size.

    I for one would really love to see Lanterns tamable. They look cool and fit my Japanese theme well.
