Start on the older ones, more established economy, more items avaliable for making TT grade items, more high level players for aiding in bosses and FBs
If you wanna join the new servers be prepared to write a fat paycheck to play the new server, the one with the bigger wallet gets the higher levels/gear, the fact about how fast people leveled there is just beyond ridiculous. Yay $ for PWE O:0 -

I kinda agree with you but not fully.
By any means you have to pay to play or to be good or to have the best items.
However, in a new sever this could me more challeging for being new.0 -
actually when first starting out its always best to start on an established server until you learn the game....economy will be better prices will be lower and you will be able to advance a lot faster....once you learn the game you can choose to go to a new server for more competition etc if you like....heavens tear is an excellent server for the most part except a few immature kiddies in world chat0

theres already 8x players and the server hasnt even been out that long. it sounds like an esoterical/charm burning heck hole, and if all it takes to get some is spending $ when barely starting the new servers, its as if its a battle between wallets0 -

Honesly spending money at lower levels is real waste of money IMO. If you want to spend money, I have no idea at which level to do it.
At my current level, I have found all my gear without expending a single dime.
Saying that, things might change in upper levels but at least, I did not need anything below 67.
At the same time I dont do PK. So, I guess that might affect too.0 -

There's probably a lot more to it than simply how much they spend, and a lot of players on the older servers probably use the same amount of esoterics/charms.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
New server. You won't have as many people to compete against, and you'll have plenty of people around your own level to squad with on mob quests, or to ask questions to in-game. I'm on Harshlands, and the starter towns are always busy with new gamers, but not choked with them. Out in the fields, you can get some peace and quiet to yourself a lot of the time because the higher levels are off in the higher level areas, but you can run into them in town and in factions. There are always some around to assist with FBs and Bosses, especially if you get into a good Faction.
As for Factions, the territory map on Harshlands has quite a bit of variety to it. Many factions hold land, and all but the main cities have been captured through PvE at this point. Now we're entering the PvP Territory War stage, so it's a dynamic time where the color of the map will be determined in the coming weeks. On older servers, I hear, the maps are basically one color (or maybe two) and have been that way for a long time, and are unlikely to change. If you want to get in on the change, I say roll new server
Plus, lots of the players on the new servers - Harshlands, at least - came from the older servers, so they know how to play the game. The more helpful sorts among them are, well, helpful ^x^Take the moment in your hands, and dust off the parts that you wish weren't there. Hold onto and pursue the parts you enjoy, letting the drifting dust fade away on the wind, remembered and learned from, but no trouble to you now. ~ Myself, 4/4/09.

First weeks of server whoever had more money to buy oracles would be highest. Right now whoever has more time will lvl faster.0
