lol, mages dieding easy too and they havent spam heal as Cleric.
So dont suggest overpower Clerics, healers in all mmorpgs always were a weak char, its support character, not Damage Dealer/Tank/Assasin

Combat pets will never be available to classes other than Venos, and for several simple and legitimate reasons.

1.) Classes are balanced already. Adding combat pets to other classes would give them a HUGE advantage over Venos. A lot of people don't realize this, but both Veno spell and Veno pet damage are poor. We pay for our pets with low dmg output. Unless you also advocate nerfing all cleric attack, heal, and buff spells to a fraciton of their current power, giving clerics pets would be a bad idea.

2.) Combat pets for other classes would make the Veno a useless class. Venos are built around their pets. Without the pet as an advantage, the Veno is simply a terrible caster class (poor dmg, low variety, few usefull effects). Giving everyone else pets would be about the same as taking them away from Venos, which would kill the class. For better or worse, this game is heavily centered on the mythology that the Veno class is based on, so it's the least likely to be hurt or scrapped.

A support pet would be kool. Doesnt have to attack. Maybe one that can cast like a mini heal or mini mp boost. Doesnt have to be insane. You could even make it so a veno has to be the one that tames it.

    3) All the clerics will be soloing. No more parties. The game will fall apart.

It doesn't truly **** venos, since they will still solo as well as before, the gimp is only in comparison to OP clerics. It's the other 4 classes that'll be left dry and high.b:chuckle

Well, you would also destroy the only reason any squad has to want a Veno. Despite what many people may say, every Veno I've met likes to party. It's so much more fun and social than soloing. Unfortunately, the only reason anyone else seems to want to party with a Veno is for our luring ability, which you would effectively be giving Clerics on top of all their other party-benefits (healing, buffs, res, dmg).

Lone, I wasn't trying to put you down at all, just to enlighten you. This idea has been brought up many times before. It seems like a very attractive idea on the surface, but it would really **** a lot of things up in-game.

I think this is a great idea. Like Clerics could have one battling pet once they reach level 20 and then add another once they reach level 30.

Well, clerics are very weak when they get into fights soloing. The cleric has really slow attacks and the attacks may be interupted easily. I have died many times just because my attacks have be interupted over and over again. I believe that all classes should be able to get a pet but only venomancers may have multiple pets. That way, there will be not change because as Sylvini said, "A lot of people don't realize this, but both Veno spell and Veno pet damage are poor. We pay for our pets with low dmg output. ", but venomancers may have multiple combat pets and since each does little damage, it wont make much of a difference if people from the other classes had only one.

You should try Wiz. Clerics are quite strong soloing or partying, as long as you're willing to burn through mana and eat pots. Plume Shell plus stacked Ironheart makes clerics virtually invincible against any mobs their level. No other class can manage that.

As for multiple pets, Veno can only have one pet summoned at any moment.

Maybe there could be pets for other clases without overpowering them like you can have a pet that is much weaker than a veno and the venos could get summoner spells like summohning a Snagletooth chief for 15 mins lvl 1,20 mins lvl2 and so on.

What you need is an option to self-res. It could have a cooldown of 24 hrs.

Then why don't you let the Venomancers have multiple pets?

well i wouldn't suggest an attack pet or something for clerics but more like a multiply skill

like the warlord general in 2-2 copy's himselve ppl will have a harder time to pick the real healing cleric out of the mob b:laugh

as for wizards i dunno they are menth do deal MASSIVE dmg in TW and kill barbs and BM's
wizards should be able to stop time r something (i think they have a seal somewhat familiar , but still lvl 100 is a long way to go )
so they should improve the distance shrink for wizards
thanks to forsaken for this awesome sig b:victory[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Multiple pets for a Veno is a bad idea for one simple reason: we have enough multitasking with one pet. Those who don't play Veno's may not realize this, but running a pet is almost like running two characters at the same time in terms of multitasking. I have to pay attention to my HP/MP/Chi, my pet's HP/hunger, how much dmg it's taking a hit, the mob's attack rate, my pet's attack rate, my casting rate, my position (to not aggro other mobs), my pet's position (to not aggro other mobs), the mob's position (for some, to not aggro other mobs), and spawn timers (to not aggro other mobs). I also have to issue commands not only to my toon, but to my pet as well. Adding a second pet onto that would be madness.

As to the idea of a 'pet' that doesn't help in combat, but rather adds HP/MP regen or the like, well, Genies are pretty close to that. I can't wait for them to come out (and neither can my SP b:cry).

Why not set it up like a bonedancer? when the main pet dies, all the other ones would die as well?

Still overpowering. All the pets will kill your opponent, so the main pet won't die. It'd be interesting to see anyone trying to beat 10 phoenixes. b:chuckle
