mount or save for herc?

okay im a level 41 veno, and im not that good at saving my money but i have managed to get enough for an unspurred panther. but then i decided to read how good the herc really is and thought i should ask should i keep saving my money for the herc or should i get the mount?

the main reason i want the mount is to cut my DQ travel time in half since i don't tele with them at all and i farm for the DQ items and never buy them.

    Buy the mount. When you've saved up almost enough for a herc, sell the mount to put you over the top.

    If you were planning to buy the mount from the cash shop, I highly recommend you check the auction house and cat shops before. Almost every mount is available in these places for a lower price than the cash shop.

    i was going to buy from a catshop, i have no intention of using the cashshop if i can just buy everything in game from people who have already bought it from the cashshop.

    mount = you do almost all things faster = more money = herc bought faster

    800k or so for an unspurred panther isn't really that big a chunk out of the herc fund, and the time saved will more than make up for it. Think of it this way also: without a mount you will be more likely to teleport. It's a small investment now that can potentially save you a good bit in the long run.

    I don't have a mount. I just fly everywhere on my shade. :p

    Please,a mount does not gather you money faster for herc,just do some tt's with friends or your golem,mounts are pretty useless outside of tw or if you're running from a pker,flying over a mountain is much better than having to ride round it or swim through a river ^^

    Oh and even with max loyalty you're still gonna get knocked off it by low lvl mobs all the time :P

    Depends how you think about it.

    If you think of it in terms of money per level gained, then no the mount does not help you make money faster. People with lots of time (kids, students) tend to think this way.

    If you think of it in terms of money per time spent playing, then yes the mount does help you make money faster. People with time constraints on their play (people with jobs, people with kids) tend to think this way.

    And unless it'll only take you a few days to save money for a herc, it makes no sense to have all that money sitting unused in the bank. Use it to buy something which helps your gameplay, which you can liquidate later when you need the money.

    I don't have land mount, as I went for a faster flying mount. With all the long distance traveling it is better to have a faster flying mount than land mount.
    I got spurred Swiftwind, so I am flying with 8.1 m/s, it is slower than lvl11 Windsprint Panther and any better mounts, but I have to worry less about running into wrong groups of mobs, getting stuck or getting dropped. Auto-pathing ftw, as long as you don't fly into Jewel.

    More on the topic - get the land/air mount first and only then the herc. Faster moving will save you a lot of time. Less time wasted, more time for money-earning.
    As Solandri said, just sell it when you get closer to the herc to get the missing money.

    okay so what if i first bought a land mount and then after when im lvl 50 bought swiftwind or red bird flying mount and sell the panther to get it and just do the same exact thing when i am almost to the point of getting a herc, sell the bird to get over the top.

    saves you having to run everywhere on foot. you can do the mat rounds in a fraction of the time it would take to do on foot, unless you have maxed out summer sprint

    wat the heck? i thought the whole point of "mount making money" was going on mat cycles collecting mats.

    Or suckering someone into letting you lure for thier Zhen session on a mount.

    Mounts for TW are awful nice.
