At your lvl quests are still probably the best way to gain exp...
At least til lvl39 when u get the knockback skill, which changes a lot b:victory

If you run out of quests, air mobs are always a good choice, for water mobs (i dunno their lvl) u might have a look at those undine in orchid valley, or the fish in etherblade lake...

The reason wizards are encouraged to water grind is because most will have a high level sandstorm (you dont have level 1 yet), a high level water shield (yours might be 6) and better mobility than others with distance shrink.

You probably don't need to grind yet, just do your quests. And I personally would choose air mobs over water until you have maxed water shield and a level 5/6 sandstorm.

Stone Rain can work fine for water mobs and will do additional dmg against water based elements. Generally water based mobs are mag attack so you gain some advantage from this.
Air mobs give the same xp bonus, tough to find water\fire\earth based air mobs though.

At your level I found grinding a pain in the ****.. best thing to look for are people that want to party with you.. until I was in the 50's and 60's I tried to avoid grinding alone and now in the 80's I prefer to grind alone, other ppl **** up my rhythm..

find a veno that is fighting some metal mobs, pyro and devine pyro combos, or water mobs, stone rain and pitfall. Let the pet run in and let loose..

If you gotta grind alone use gush every other skill and you should be able to kite anything out there aslong as you dont run into mobs while kiting.. but kiting sucks..

And know that this will only last for a while.. soon you'll get some skills that will make grinding a lot easier.. I would recommend upping any skill with a slow ability once you can get it to level 5.. at 86 I still use gush quite a bit, almost every other skill, so IMO it is one of the very important skills.. later you won't use it to kite anymore, you will use it to slow the mob running at you so you can kill it before it gets a chance to hit you.

True, stone rain is useful. I'm just used to "grinding" being quite a few levels away, so I don't know how much faster water grinding using stonerain would be compared to air grinding on metal mobs (pterosaurs) or even better the fire flyers (foxwing species). Fire shield + Gush makes short work of them.

And as far as being tough...there are types in both those species throughout 30s and 40s, so not hard at all really.

Water mobs start halfway into the 50's. That's when you'll end up grinding a lot on them.
Wondering how much longer these **** packs are going to be around.

That works. For some reason I thought 60 Foxwing supremes were like gospel to wizards in the mid-50s until they outleveled them. Good to know there are options.

At your level (30's) you should check out the flying mobs above the vulcanic pulgaratory north of etherblade. At around 66 height, right above the top, there are some 35 and some 38 flying mobs (so 1.25 exp modifier). Good luck!
