Pet unsummons self?

Sometimes my pet will unsummon itself, and will result in me dying since I am Arcane. I was wondering if there was a fix for this or if it has happened to someone else? My pet doesn't die, nor is it on any hotkey so I couldn't have mistakenly pressed it.

So yeah, if someone has some help that'd be nice.

watch out not to step into water or start flying when you have a land pet out. I have no other idea what the problem could be...

If you stand on something "other than land" for very long, your pet might think you were flying and go away. In other words, I think you should be careful with rocks, wooden structures, steps, and so on.

When your pet vanishes, if you go back and stand on something you were standing on and try summoning your pet and can not, you can blame whatever you were standing on.

(However, some thing are "land" even though you might not think so by their appearance.)

If you have the pet on stop rather than follow, and run too far away it will unsummon itself.

If you step in shallow water like Flausch said, your pet might unsummon itself. Your pet can fight in shallow water though as long as you are on dry land.

Take careful note that there are some areas that do not allow your pet to be on: I think bridges might be the problem.

For example, the bridge to cross over to Wolf Totem Valley does not allow pets to cross, so you have to re-summon immediately. At least I do anyway b:cry

If you have your pet quickslotted, be careful you are not hitting it.

I had my pet on 3 and Ironwood Scarab on F3 and ended up moving the pet to 5 since I accidentally hit 3 too often.

Also, if you have a land pet out, and you go up a mountain to far, it will unsummon. Happens on the really high mountains.
